A huge number of people have been involved in this partnership over eight years. They have helped to ensure the Bathscape Scheme was successfully delivered, and that its activities continue. Motivated and dedicated local people and groups are the key to the success of this area based scheme.

Thank you to everyone who’s been involved - from our engaged and insightful Board members; advisers from the National Lottery Heritage Fund; local experts and collaborators who have shared their knowledge, enthusiasm and artistry; past staff members and students; all 1000 of our amazing volunteers; community groups; and the dedicated staff working for our partners who have delivered all the work, in all weathers.

Thanks very much to all of you for making it such an enjoyable project to work on.

"I think it's amazing that you can see two completely different sides of the city with one turn of your head".

As we come to the end of our lottery funded work, we've been reflecting on some of the fantastic contributions that our placement and work experience students have shared with us through their research, digital marketing, participatory media and heritage management projects, and through photography.

We hope you have a lovely long weekend, enjoying the views, wherever you are in the Bathscape and beyond!

One of our favourite things about Bathscape? We've enjoyed helping people to explore the Bathscape through walking, wellbeing walks, and our work through Natural Pathways and Connecting Families. We have met so many wonderful people including volunteers, group members, walkers and supporters across the projects!

This year the theme for Mental Health Awareness Week encourages people to take action to support good mental health.

So, if you're looking for small actions to help you - we hope you'll enjoy accessing our free walking trails and resources which share ways to explore local green spaces and nature of the Bathscape. They are all available on our website!

The Bathscape team have been reflecting on our achievements over the last eight years.

As we count down to the end of the National Lottery Heritage funding we thought we’d take time to share some of our favourite bits.

Over the next few weeks keep an eye out for our highlights and some of the superstars who have made the Bathscape partnership project so special.

And of course, a huge thank you to players of the National Lottery for their support throughout this special landscape partnership.

You can check out Lucy’s recent blog for Visit Bath which shares just some of the tranquil green spaces available to explore within the Bathscape!

“The surrounding hills not only provide a spectacular backdrop to this most compact of cities but also allow unparalleled opportunity for access and enjoyment.

Within fifteen minutes it is possible to walk from urban centre to wildflower rich valley, while a half hour in almost any direction will lead you to walks amongst open fields and wooded slopes that are recognisable from Georgian times.

Looking back to the city, the iconic views underline the interplay between the rural and urban landscape and their collective value.”

A beautiful bench to enjoy a beautiful view! Huge thanks go to to the fantastic Cotswold Voluntary Wardens team who installed this bench which is designed so people can wheel up to the table as well as walk up, to enjoy the view.

Through collaboration, Bathscape partners at Cotswolds National Landscape have installed these brilliant benches with funding from a DEFRA Access to Nature grant. Thanks to Charlcombe Parish Council and BaNES parks department for their support.

As ever, huge thanks to Bathscape partners and wonderful volunteers for all they do to make the Bathscape accessible.

You can check out the beautiful Lansdown views using our Lansdown on the Level trail which is available on our website. Try out the fabulous bench for yourself - we’d love to hear what you think!

The countdown has started! Bathscape is teaming up with Dorothy House, Grow for Life and The Urban Garden to give the Community Garden in Foxhill a bit of care and attention.

The community garden, next to Parson’s bakery, has been untended for several years. Local residents with some support have cleared it back, now it’s time to get it growing again!

We need you to help plant it up. Come along, get involved and learn more about plants.

Grow for Life will be running sessions from 11am until 1pm on Wednesdays 25th February, 4th March, 11th March and 25th March 2026

No need to book. Just come along ready to get your hands dirty. You’ll be helping re-establish a garden for us all to share. A place where we say ‘there are no strangers here’.

More information can be found on the 'events' page of the Bathscape website.
