Sessions are well under way at The Making Place 🎶

It’s been brilliant seeing young people getting hands-on in the studio making music, trying out equipment, sharing ideas and building confidence through creating.

This is just the beginning. We’ll be sharing more from the sessions soon, along with future opportunities to get involved.

The studio is a big part of The Making Place.

Delivered from Riverside Youth hub, Bath, I wanted young people to have access to a real creative environment.Somewhere that feels exciting and professional, but still relaxed, supportive and not intimidating.

It’s a space to make music, try ideas, build confidence and create without pressure.

This is what we wanted The Making Place to feel like.

The Making Place is a small, structured creative group where young people can explore music, audio and media through real projects — with the time, support and space to actually engage.

What actually happens in a session?

Each session is hands-on and built around creating, not just learning about things.

A typical session might include:

producing music using professional software

recording vocals or instruments

creating a short podcast

Filming & editing a short film/documentary

Young people work at their own pace, with support and guidance throughout.

There’s no pressure to perform or keep up - just space to focus and make something of their own.

The Making Place is a creative space in Bath where young people can make music, podcasts and digital media through hands-on projects.

It’s designed for those who prefer smaller groups and a more focused environment, rather than large, busy settings.

Sessions are practical and project-based. Young people might:

produce their own music

record and edit podcasts

create short films/documentaries

The aim is simple: give young people the time, space, tools and opportunities to create something real.

Based in Bath. Small group sessions.

It’s not about pressure or performance, just space to create, learn new skills and connect with others.
