Another lively afternoon in the Margaret Fisher Room. It's a cosy, purposed-designed space within the centre where we can provide an enhanced level of care for people who need a bit of extra support.
Not that William and friends needed any prompting to have some unscripted fun chucking a ball about. Some instincts just stay with us!

Huge thanks to Bertie and his human companion Donna for dropping in to see us today🥰
Interacting with animals is so important for people living with dementia and cocker spaniel Bertie is such a gentle soul who lapped up the attention, strokes and cuddles. We are so grateful to Donna and everyone at Pets As Therapy. Their visits are always highlights of our day!

We love it when young people spend time with us and today we welcomed Elia and Frankie, whose Dad is also our CEO Ricky. The pair are regular visitors during the school holidays, when they get involved in activities, help out around the centre and find out more about supporting people living with dementia. Our clients love their company and the feeling is mutual! Thank you Elia and Frankie for spending part of your holiday with us 😄

Dawn's haircut...
One of the many joys of a day at Peggy Dodd is the chance to have a makeover from the centre's own dedicated hairdresser. Professional stylist Chloe started dropping in to see us occasionally and now cuts and styles the hair of several clients each day at our mini-salon at the centre.

"I love it. It can be harder for people with dementia to get into the salons in town so it's amazing that we can give people a haircut here alongside everything else that we do."

We're delighted to have Chloe now working at as a support worker at the centre and in people's own homes. And of course, like Dawn pictured here, everyone she supports always looks their best!

ReMind UK has published its autumn programme of free support for people living with dementia and their loved ones across Bath & NES. The programme includes 10-week wellbeing courses, Carers Information Days and a range of seasonal creative activities and events, all designed to encourage connection, build confidence and help people live well with dementia for as long as possible.
