Voices for Life

Voices for Life We help all children have the confidence to show their communities how special they really are in a way that makes everyone want to sing, smile and dance!

Voices for Life takes all children on a journey of self-discovery and growth through the power of music, creativity and performance, by providing high quality music and wellbeing projects which foster their confidence, skills and relationships. Voices for Life envisions a world where all children have the chance to make music, promoting wellbeing and building sustainable communities. We take all c

hildren on a journey of self-discovery and growth through the power of music, creativity and performance, by providing high quality music and wellbeing projects which foster their confidence, skills and relationships. Our professional musicians begin by going directly into primary schools to deliver singing and wellbeing workshops for whole schools or year groups during the school day. In the space of just one hour, we have entire schools standing up and singing together with joy to a live musical instrument, often for the first time. Our specially commissioned massed wellbeing projects are at the heart of our work. These massed projects engage whole year groups and bring together hundreds of children from different schools across socio-economic divides in a large-scale public performance. In 2022 we also established our first Bath Children’s Choir, to give the children that wanted to keep singing and performing the ability to do so. Our aim is to be increasingly adaptive and innovative, so that more children across the country can benefit.

This week the children had their final Sing for Hope workshop, learning how we can look forward to the good things in life even during tough times.
Here they are, taking a moment to feel the soothing breeze of the rainbow fabric above them, enjoying the colours and discovering that, like a rainbow, hope can break through when you least expect it.

What's the rainbow in your cloudy sky? 🌈

What the teachers say...

While our 10-week school singing and wellbeing projects are where children gain the tools they need to grow in confidence and handle their feelings, we also love to celebrate how far they've come with a grand finale. Our massed school projects end in a big performance alongside professional musicians, bringing together up to 250 children at a time. It's quite the spectacle!
Here's what one teacher said after their school's big day...

Taking part in our school projects is about much more than singing.

Many of the children we work with face significant challenges to their wellbeing, but our singing and wellbeing workshops offer a space for them to explore their emotions in a nurturing environment, step outside their comfort zones, and discover what they are truly capable of.

By the time they come to their final performance, they're more sure of themselves, able to cope with the nerves of the day, and ready show their loved ones and communities just how much they have grown.

As one teacher and parent saw as their own child sang in front of a packed auditorium...
