Laura shares why being trauma-informed and survivor-led is so vital to Voices.

Every woman who walks through our doors is met with understanding, empathy and support from people who truly get it.

Together, through lived experience, we create a safe space for healing, recovery and growth.💜

Support survivors. Strengthen families.

At Voices, we provide trauma-informed programmes, counselling and one-to-one support to help mums heal, rebuild confidence and create safe, nurturing homes where children can thrive.

When a mother feels supported, the impact reaches far beyond her.

If you would like to help us continue this work, we would love your support.

Voices began as a small idea held by women who wanted more than survival, they wanted a place where recovery, confidence and community could grow.

In this video, Ursula and Aimee, two of the founding members, sit with Karen, our CEO, to reflect on how far the charity has come.

Together they speak about creating a warm, safe space where women can access trauma informed counselling, personalised recovery support and even legal guidance, all centred around choice and empowerment.

Voices has grown into a vital part of the Bath community, and with continued support it will keep helping women rebuild their lives in their own way.

When support reaches a mum, it reaches her children too. Safety, care, and consistency help young lives grow stronger after harm.

At VOICES, we focus on recovery that protects childhoods and helps families build futures grounded in trust and stability.

Every woman’s recovery journey is different, which is why Voices never takes a one size fits all approach.

Being trauma informed and led by lived experience means taking the time to listen, build trust and understand what each person needs, whether that is group recovery, counselling or gentle one to one support.

Our practitioners and lived experience team work together with each woman to create a path that feels safe, personal and right for her.

Recovery should honour the individual, and that is at the heart of everything we do.

Real change comes when survivors lead the way.

At VOICES, our advocacy is shaped by lived experience, ensuring that every woman’s voice is heard, believed, and used to create safer futures for others.

At Voices, we know that prevention starts with understanding.

When women learn why abusive patterns formed and what healthy relationships should look like, they can move forward safely and with confidence.

We also want to empower young people with the same knowledge, helping them understand healthy boundaries and spot early signs of harm so they do not repeat the cycles they have seen or lived through.

Recovery is prevention, and education is part of that journey.

Emotional abuse is about power and control.

It can slowly undermine someone’s sense of self, isolate them from support and make them question their reality. The impact can be long lasting and deeply harmful.

Recognising the signs is an important step.

If you need support, Voices is here.

Every donation helps Voices provide safe, stable recovery support for women who need more than crisis care.

Long term counselling, 6 to 12 week recovery programmes and a secure space to meet all rely on funding.

These services help women rebuild their confidence, understand the changing forms of abuse and move forward with support that adapts to their needs.

Your donations also help us work with systems like the family courts, so survivors are better understood and better protected.

Unrestricted funds give us the flexibility to meet women where they are and respond to the constantly evolving realities of domestic abuse.

💜 Donate, share or like this post to help us keep these services going.
