We are deeply saddened to share the news of Richard Holmesā passing.
Richard was not only a valued member of our community but also a dear friend and an inspiration to so many. His strength, determination, and unwavering faith touched countless lives, and his impact on EndMND will never be forgotten.
Below is a statement from our founder, Joe:
"Iām incredibly sad to hear about the passing of Richard Holmes.
Many of you will know Richard or have seen the documentary we shared in the Spring of 2024. He was a great friend and someone I had a huge amount of respect for. When he was diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease in September 2022, it was a massive shock, but he faced it with strength, determination, and his unwavering faith. His diagnosis was the reason I set up EndMND in May 2023, and from day one, he played a huge role in helping it growāwhether it was offering marketing advice, pushing our strategy forward, or just being there to support me along the way.
Iāll always be grateful to Richardānot just for his business insight but for his friendship, his sense of humour (especially when it came to our debates about Sheffieldās football teams), and the way he handled lifeās toughest challenge with so much resilience. Even in the hardest moments, his faith never wavered, and he had complete peace about what came next.
Itās incredibly sad to say goodbye, but I know that I'll see him again."
Richardās legacy will continue to inspire us as we push forward in the fight to end MND. Our thoughts are with his family and all who knew and loved him.
