Bath Astronomers Bath Astronomers is a group of keen stargazers in or around Bath. We share astro experiences and the enjoyment of practical astronomy.

We promote the astro sciences to all, young and old alike. We are registered charity 1215572. Bath Astronomers is a group of keen amateur astronomers living in or near Bath. We meet monthly on the last Wednesday of the month at either the Bath Royal Literary and Scientific Institution or the Herschel Museum of Astronomy. We have over 140 members and lots of interested visitors to public stargazing outreach. All welcome and we strvie to be family friendly.

Such an enjoyable evening at Wellow with families taking on the 100hours.online challenges.

We dodged the clouds to complete all the challenges and have a visual and telescopic tour of the slies over Somerset.

Thanks to all the lovely families that travelled to Wellow this evening.

An amazing talk by Dr Meg Schwamb to a packed audience last night for Bath Astronomers at Bath Royal Literary and Scientific Institution. We're all very excited now about the restart of the scientific survey by the teams at Vera Rubin.

Get involved. It's great fun, requires no specialist knowledge, and takes just a few minutes if you're pressed for time. Well explained challenges appear on your phone. All can be done without binoculars or telescopes.

Crew 13 are due to launch to the International Space Space at 3:10pm (UTC+1/BST) tomorrow, Thursday 1st October. The crew are Jessica Watkins and Luke Delaney from NASA, Joshua Kutryk from the Canadian Space Agency and Sergey Teteryatnikov from Roscosmos.

This will be the Crew Dragon capsule's second flight and the first stage boosters third.

You can watch it live via the SpaceX stream using https://www.spacex.com/launches/crew13

Within a week of docking, Crew 12 will depart the ISS after a 6 month stay. Jessica Meir and Jack Hathaway from NASA, Sophie Adenot from ESA, and Andrey Fedyaev from Roscosmos.
