Volunteers needed on 17th June from 10am please.

We planted a small woodland and wildlife corridor on a farm near Pengover Green, Liskeard in January, 2023. They are doing fairly well so far but could do with a little extra help.

The tasks are fairly straightforward so no previous experience is required and we provide the equipment. The landowner is providing lunch. If you have a few spare hours or even a whole day, we would be very grateful for your help.

For more information and to let us know you are coming, please visit our website.

We planted trees on this farm in 2023. We are returning to give them a helping hand by straightening stakes and guards, adding mulch, etc.

One of the first things we did when we bought land near Bath for our new nature reserve was to coppice some of the hazel. February was a busy month! Coppicing is an important part of woodland management and is proven to improve biodiversity. We will be running courses at Warleigh, Bath starting in September. Elena has written an excellent article to explain its benefits and you can find out more about the courses here too.

Learn what coppicing is, why it matters for biodiversity, and how traditional woodland management at Warleigh Nature Reserve helps restore habitats, support wildlife, and create sustainable local materials.
