One person. One journey. One opportunity to make a difference.

As one of our members, Julie put it, “I certainly would have been in a much darker place without them". Those words capture something we don't talk about enough when discussing unemployment; impact on mental health.

Losing a job isn't simply losing a salary. For experienced professionals, it can mean losing confidence, routine, professional identity and the feeling of whether your years of experience are still valued.

Julie found herself navigating that uncertainty, but through M3JC she found something incredibly important: a community that understood what she was going through and reminded her that she still had a great deal to offer.

Julie described the calibre of people coming through M3JC as “exceptional” and shared that she is now “looking forward with confidence about what the future holds.” She is “certainly not prepared to settle” and believes she still has “a huge amount to contribute to the local economy.”

That's what M3JC can help create not simply better CVs or interview skills, but the confidence to recognise your own value again.

Most people don't think about their financial wellbeing, resilience, or future options until they lose their job.

When redundancy or unemployment strikes, confidence can disappear overnight, uncertainty grows, feeling of isolation and loss of identity hits, and even simple financial decisions can feel overwhelming.

At M3 Job Club, we've seen first-hand through the powerful stories of our members and alumni how the right support can help people regain confidence, find employment, and rebuild their financial wellbeing.

Please watch the short video where you will hear first-hand, what it meant by joining M3JC and the positive impact it made on them.

We're raising £15,610 through the Aviva Community Fund to provide even greater support, helping people better understand their finances during periods of worklessness so they can make informed decisions at a vulnerable and uncertain time.

Any contribution, large or small, will make a significant difference to our members and the families who depend on them.

❤️ Please donate and share: https://communitiesfund.avivafoundation.org.uk/p/help-regain-employment-financial-independence

Together, we can help turn uncertainty into opportunity and give members hope when they need it most.

Meet Simon. The driving force behind M3 Job Club's Got Talent - The Return.

He's been through multiple redundancies over the last ten years, and each time, M3 Job Club has helped him find his way through to a new opportunity.

So when he found himself back there in 2024, Simon did what Simon does. He looked for a way to give something back.

One morning, over coffee, he started asking fellow members what they did when they weren't updating their CVs and applying for jobs. In a single conversation, he discovered he was surrounded by musicians, and that's when he hit upon the idea for M3 Job Club's Got Talent.

Last year the band took to the stage for the first time, raising over £1,500 for M3 Job Club and packing out a hall with people who didn't want the night to end. This year they're back, bigger and better than ever, and with a special story to tell.

"We want to take the audience on a journey, using songs everyone knows to tell the story of what it really feels like to lose your job and find your way back. It's honest, it's fun, and I think it's going to surprise people."

Simon didn't just find his way through redundancy. He turned the experience into something that's brought an entire community together. Come and see what happens when that community decides to celebrate itself.

If M3 Job Club has ever been there for you, you'll know what it means. Now it's your chance to give something back.

Maybe it was a suggestion from a Friday morning session that made all the difference and got you noticed by that hiring manager. Maybe it was the advice that helped you nail that interview, or simply knowing there were people around who understood exactly what you were going through — the frustrations, the false starts, the moments of doubt.

Whatever M3 Job Club means to you, it only exists because people give their time, their expertise and their energy to keep it free for everyone who needs it.

On 6 June, members and alumni who have lived that journey are taking to the stage at Old Basing Village Hall, near Basingstoke. They've formed a real band, and they're going to take you through the highs and lows of job-hunting using songs you know and love.

Tickets are only £10 each. That's less than a round of drinks. And all proceeds go directly back into keeping M3 Job Club free for the next person who needs it.

Now it's your chance to give something back — and have a brilliant night doing it. Let's fill the room.
