🌱 Project Iris: Summer Reflections | Building Understanding

One of the things we hope young people take away from Project Iris is a better understanding of their mental health and the confidence to reach out when things feel difficult. 💜

🌱 71% increased their awareness of mental health issues
💜 55% had more strategies available when struggling
🌱 57% felt better able to talk about a problem with a safe, trusted adult

Small changes that can make a meaningful difference beyond Project Iris. 💜🌱

Back to school is approaching...

While some children and young people will be looking forward to seeing friends and getting back into a routine, for others the return to school can bring anxiety, uncertainty and overwhelm.

Sometimes the behaviour we see is actually a way of communicating:“I’m finding this difficult.”

Our blog shares some thoughts on understanding back-to-school anxiety and how families, schools and professionals can work together to make the transition feel a little safer and more manageable.

🌱 Project Iris: Summer Reflections | Finding Their Voice

*"It's been good for somebody to listen to me. I'm not overthinking stuff as much and I'm talking to people." 💜

Sometimes simply having someone who really listens can make such a difference.

Project Iris gives young people space to talk, connect and feel heard, building confidence to share how they're feeling and ask for help when they need it.

And sometimes, their own words say it best. 💜🌱

“We haven’t lowered the bar; we’ve changed the route to success.”

For our learners, success is about far more than GCSE results alone. Qualifications and assessments are carefully chosen around each young person’s strengths, needs and aspirations, while recognising the barriers they may have experienced.

Through GCSE-equivalent, Functional Skills and vocational qualifications, we help learners gain recognised achievements, build confidence and develop pathways into college, employment, training and adulthood.

Success isn’t about every learner taking the same qualification. It’s about every learner leaving with achievements that open doors to their future. We are incredibly proud of them.
