Inclusion School in Basingstoke is an Independent Special School supporting young people from 11-16 with an EHCP, with mental health and additional learning needs. Inclusion College in Hook, mental health focused further education and employment preparation for those aged 16+ and in receipt of an EHCP.

📢 Reminder for Inclusion College Parents, Carers & Students

Monday 19th October - Progress Review Day

A reminder that Inclusion College will be closed for normal lessons on Monday 19th October.

Online learning activities will be sent home for learners to complete.

We are inviting parents, carers and learners into college for Progress Review meetings, providing an opportunity to discuss individual baselines, tracking and progress so far, and look ahead to the next steps in their learning journey.

We look forward to welcoming you and celebrating the progress being made! 💜

💙 1 MILLION STEPS EACH - WHAT AN ACHIEVEMENT!👣

A huge congratulations to Matt Holman & Katie Le Flem on completing an incredible one million steps EACH in just 31 days, raising over £5,000 for The Baton of Hope! 💙

Here at Inclusion Education, our teams have been inspired to get moving too, collectively logging 4,943,547 steps in support of the challenge!

It's been a wonderful reminder that movement is about so much more than physical wellbeing. Getting outside, connecting with others, taking time to be present and simply walking and talking can make such a difference to our mental health.

Most importantly, it's about coming together, starting conversations and spreading hope.

Well done to everyone who stepped up, supported and donated. Every step matters! 💙

Exploring exciting opportunities for collaboration!

It was a pleasure for our CEO, Cheryl Edwards FIFIP, and Head of Inclusion EB8 Alex Edwards to meet with Diane Vernon MBE FIEP and Dr Janie Frampton OBE DL from EmployabilityUK last week.

It was a really positive conversation about our shared values, ambitions and commitment to creating opportunities and improving outcomes for young people.

We're excited to explore how we might work together, combining our experience, expertise and shared passion to make an even greater difference.

💬 Words matter – especially in education.

Words Matter has published an important new report exploring the impact and prevention of childhood verbal abuse in education.

Research by Words Matter with UCL Institute of Education heard from more than 1,000 students and 600 teachers – and one finding that stood out to us on

💛 76% of teachers said building positive relationships is central to their role.

But workload, curriculum pressures and school culture can make this harder. The report also highlights the risk of “compassion fatigue” when staff are tired, stretched and under sustained pressure.

At Inclusion Education, we know just how important safe, trusted and compassionate relationships can be for young people, particularly those experiencing mental health challenges and SEND.

So on , it’s a timely reminder to recognise the teachers and education professionals building those relationships every day – and the importance of supporting them too. 💛
