Just days to go until the UK’s largest Young Carers Festival opens its doors in Southampton 💚 Around 1,000 Young Carers and their adult leaders will come together at YMCA Fairthorne Manor this weekend for friendship, adventure, and a well-earned break.

But once the weekend ends, these young people return to their caring roles – and the need for support continues. We’re building towards 2027 and would love to hear from individuals and organisations who want to get involved – as volunteers, fundraisers, or partners. Did you know we host a Young Carers Festival every year at YMCA Fairthorne Manor ?

In just over a month, we are hosting the 26th annual Young Carers Festival with The Children's Society 🎆 YCF gives hundreds of young carers from across the country the chance to just be a child again.

For the young people we support in Basingstoke, initiatives like this one have the opportunity to make all the difference.

Here in Hampshire and the Isle of Wight, the housing crisis for young people is very real.

At the end of January, our CEO Phillipa Spicer, attended the launch of YMCA England & Wales initiative at the House of Commons.

is a movement to help end the youth housing crisis by creating 10,000 new homes for young people. At YMCA Fairthorne Group, we will continue to champion young people, to play our part in tackling housing challenges locally, and to ensure our services continue to deliver meaningful, positive impact across Hampshire and the Isle of Wight.
