IS NO NEWS GOOD NEWS?

Latest up-date!
At this time CAGE is actively supporting Dummer Parish Council as there are concerns about traffic management if the warehouses are built on Junction 7 of the M3.
CAGE has no information about any current action at the Oakdown Farm site.

We'll keep you posted when there's any news!!!!

FINAL DECISION!!!!
Attached is the link to the agreement about the Oakdown Farm warehouses.https://publicaccess.basingstoke.gov.uk/online-applications/files/79D90C7D9F94659E2B13EB43F79CCBC2/pdf/23_03120_FUL-GRANTED_FULL-6633741.pdf

As you'll see, it is a long document but CAGE is concerned as
it does not include a legally binding requirement for HGV traffic to and from the warehouses to enter and leave via M3 J7. This was a key condition on which approval was granted by BDBC back in November and is a blatant omission.

CAGE has raised this with Hampshire County Council as a matter of urgency.

We'll keep you posted.

News for CAGE'S followers and supporters!

THE WAREHOUSE PLANNING APPLICATION HAS BEEN APPROVED!!

Yes, Councillors on the Planning Committee of Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council voted to APPROVE the Newlands warehouse development on junction 7 of the M3 (23/03120/FUL) at their meeting on 6th November, 2024.

This was a very disappointing outcome following four years’ work when permission had been refused by Basingtoke Council ‘s Planning Committee twice and by HM’s Planning Inspector. CAGE and Dummer Parish Council are now reviewing this decision.

CAGE wanted to say a huge THANK YOU to all our supporters both near and far. You’ve been brilliant! Certainly, we wouldn’t have achieved the previous refusals without the letters of objection, the protest meetings, backup from local councillors, county councillors, and the written protests and inputs from everyone.

THANK YOU - We'll be in touch!!

What is the CAGE?

CAGE (Clean Air Green Environment) is a campaign in response to the plan to build a gigantic distribution and manufacturing facility, operational 24/7, in the beautiful North Hampshire Downs.

Areas of current focus include: light, water, noise and air pollution; impact on health; road safety; effects on wildlife; visual impact; ecology and the loss of farmland; flood risk and drainage; emissions the effect on global warming.

Who are we?

We are a group of UK residents, concerned about the increasing trend of rushing through planning applications for monetary profit without appropriate thought to long-term environmental impacts. We urge our country’s planners to value our clean air and green environment in a time of critical climate concern.
