Essex Pedal Power is reaching communities all over the county, by helping break down the barriers to cycling. As well as Canvey Island and Harlow, we have projects in Basildon, Colchester, Clacton and Harwich.

There are lot's of fun activities to get involved in, local rides led by local people, bike fixing events, cycle training, Seated Pedal sessions and more. To find out more about the project check out Essex Pedal Power on the Active Essex website.

It’s Bike Week and we want to hear from you 🚲

Essex Pedal Power has helped people across Canvey Island, Harlow and beyond get back on a bike, build confidence and feel part of their community.

For many, it’s not just about cycling. It’s about,

• getting out and about more
• meeting others locally
• feeling healthier and more confident

If you’ve had a bike through Essex Pedal Power, or joined a local ride, we’d love to hear your story.

It is National Volunteers Week!

We asked some of our lovely volunteers down in Basildon: "what does volunteering at Essex Pedal Power mean to you?".

This is what they had to say:

Our volunteers are the spokes to our wheel. They radiate out into the community. Bringing their own skills, energy, and personality to the project.

Want to get involved or learn more? Join us at the Volunteering Fair on Thursday 4th June 10am–12pm at Pathways, Basildon Centre (SS14 1DL).

🛠 Volunteers Week 1st - 7th June 🚴‍♀️

This week is Volunteers week, throughout the week we will be celebrating and looking at the journeys of our volunteers!

We wouldn't be able to do the good work out in the community without our wonderfully dedicated volunteer team. These local people put in so much time to help build bikes, fix bikes, led rides and also supported so many local people in their cycling journey.

We are forever grateful for your dedication to this community! 🎉

Would you believe this beautiful park is in Basildon in Essex?

This is the wonderful Gloucester park, located close to the town centre and home to our Women's and Inclusive ride on a Wednesday! This park has been such a joy to ride around over all the different seasons and now we are approaching summer and the park has been springing to life.

Dispite the wind, we had a great time today exploring the park and seeing all the baby ducklings and gooselings.
