Update on Charlie
There are so many changes happening in Charlie's treatment journey that I would need to update you almost hourly to keep everyone fully informed. Rather than do that, we are trusting that close family members are sharing the most important news as it comes.
We would be very grateful for your continued prayers, particularly for peace of mind for his family, and for confidence that the medical teams are doing everything possible to support him through this difficult time.
Charlie is still battling sepsis. In fact, doctors have identified three different bacterial infections, and he is currently receiving antibiotics to fight them. Please pray that these infections would be completely eradicated and that his body would respond well to the treatment.
This morning, The Christie kindly opened its doors especially for Charlie so that he could receive a treatment he had previously missed because he was too unwell for the scheduled visit. While we are thankful for this opportunity, it means he now has only one recovery day this weekend instead of two.
The medical team remains concerned about whether Charlie will be well enough to complete the remainder of his treatment. He is experiencing significant inflammation in his oesophagus, which could potentially affect his airways. Completing this treatment is crucial to his recovery, so we ask for your prayers for healing, strength, and God's intervention in this situation.
Thank you for your love, support, and continued prayers for Charlie and all who are walking this journey with him. We are overwhelmed by the kindness, encouragement, and support that have been shown to our family. "Thank you" simply doesn't feel like a big enough phrase to express the depth of our gratitude, but please know how much every message, prayer, and act of support means to us.

Prayers are requested for my great-nephew, Charlie.
Charlie was diagnosed with cancer on 8th December and began treatment immediately. He has now developed sepsis and is very poorly. Despite this, it is imperative that his cancer treatment continues. Unfortunately, this means there is a risk of repeated sepsis flare-ups as treatment is administered through an already infected line.
This morning he returns to The Christie for his daily radiotherapy. He faces the enormous challenge of enduring the radiation, the infection, and repeated anaesthetics, all while his immune system is severely weakened.
Charlie has already shown extraordinary courage and determination throughout this fight. Please keep him, his parents, and all who love him in your thoughts and prayers. Pray for strength, healing, protection from infection, wisdom for his medical team, and that his remarkable fighting spirit continues to carry him through the days ahead.
Thank you all for your love, support, and prayers. Every one of them means more than words can say.
