Barton Music Makers are proud to present the return of Kimber’s Men performing at Barton Village Hall on Saturday,18th April 2026. Doors open at 7.30pm for 8.00pm performance to make you sing, laugh, cry and be generally entertained by these unique, talented and amusing guys.

KIMBER’S MEN sing shanties and sea songs in close harmony, either a capella or with subtle use of instruments. They have been captivating audiences with their fabulous harmonies and amusing banter since 2001, and have performed at folk and shanty festivals throughout the length and breadth of the UK and around Europe.

💛 An Incredible Community Effort – Thank You! 💛

On Thursday 4th December 2025, Oliver (Year 4), Terri, and Dan hosted a fantastic fundraising evening at The Middle Bell in support of Thomas Russell Junior School, raising money for a new defibrillator.

Oliver and his friends worked brilliantly selling sweets and collecting donations, while hot dogs and chips were served outside. The evening was filled with festive cheer, with wonderful performances from a guitarist, Mr Emery, and beautiful Christmas carols from the Bar-Tones.

Thanks to everyone’s generosity, £500 was raised on the night, with a further £425 donated online, bringing the total to £925. Combined with a £587 Council grant and a £200 donation from the local WI, an amazing £1,712 has been raised.

The school has now ordered the new defibrillator, which will be installed at the front of the school and could help save lives in the future.

A huge thank you to everyone who supported, donated, performed, or came along — a brilliant example of our community coming together. Amazing work! 👏

A reminder that our next Live and Local event at Barton Village Hall is on Saturday 7 February - doors open 7.30pm for 8.00pm start. Tickets are £13.50 each.

It’s been a very busy month for The Bar-Tones, the Barton Music Makers Community Choir with our Christmas Concert, Carol singing around the village pubs and completing our Christmas events by joining Rev Andy supporting the Nine Lessons and Carols Service at St James Church last Sunday.

Details on the money raised and some photos and clips from our Christmas Concert will be shared in the new year, together with dates and ticket information for our next Live and Local events. Those that want to save the date the upcoming “An Evening with Hannah Brine” will be held on Saturday 8th February 2026 so look out for our posts.

For now we will be enjoying a well earned rest and would like to thank everyone that supports our events and follows our page a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year 🎄🎶
