The Owl Sanctuary

The Owl Sanctuary Rescue and Rehabilitation Center, working together towards education on the conservation of owls.

We are a Registered Charity with a Charities Commission, Registered Charity Number 1184837. After seeing that Owls were the result of the general public not understanding that they do not make good pets, and that Harry Potter and other animated films seems to have fueled minds that they are a cool thing to walk around with, without knowing the commitment that goes with owning a captive bird. ss Owls gave me my interest with Owls, the displaying of Owls as well as Education Owls to the public. I wanted to carry on with my own Sanctuary and head for Charitable Status, with an education package that I started with Furness Owls, as well as the public displays that I was giving in the South Lakes area. I knew that there was a large and growing list of Owls that were in need of help due to afore mentioned issues, so in April My Wife and I started Wise Owl World firstly hiring 2 Owls to display from Furness Owls, moving to our own Owls as and when we rescued them and had made sure that they:
· Would not have the ability to return to the wild and survive on their own.
· Were in good health.
· Were happy to be handled in public. We now have our own inventory of Hand Reared and Rescued Owls, we are running a very exiting Schools Education Programme visiting Residential Care Homes, Groups, Associations, Clubs with a Customer base growing day by day.

Well I've had 2 appointments in two days, I've been prodded pocked had cameras, fingers and instruments put in places cameras fingers and instruments should never go, puffed, pantted and winced as if I was giveng birth, I'm sore all over, just leaves a scan to have on Saturday night now, apparently they are looking for my brain, that could take some time, and the scanner could blow a circuit. Hay ho don't get old.
