🌺 REMEMBRANCE POPPY WALK 2026 🌺

❤️ Coming Together to Remember ❤️

📅 Wednesday 11th November 2026
🕕 Meeting Time: 6:00pm
📍 Meeting Point: Vickerstown Park, Walney
🎟️ Free Community Event – Everyone Welcome!

Join us for a special evening of remembrance as our community comes together to honour and remember those who gave their lives for our freedom.

🌺 THE POPPY WALK

We will gather at Vickerstown Park at 6pm before being led by the Walney Wild Piper on a remembrance walk up Central Drive.

Along the way, we will take in the thousands of handmade poppies that have been lovingly created by our amazing community.

🌺 A MOMENT TO REMEMBER

When we arrive at Walney Community Centre, we will come together to observe a one-minute silence, taking time to reflect and remember those we have lost.

🎶 MUSIC & REFRESHMENTS – FROM 7PM

Following the walk, everyone is warmly invited inside Walney Community Centre for refreshments and an evening of nostalgic wartime music performed by the wonderful Becky Fishwick.

❤️ A COMMUNITY UNITED IN REMEMBRANCE

Our poppy display represents countless hours of dedication from local volunteers, families, young people and community groups.

This evening is an opportunity for us all to come together, reflect, remember and appreciate the incredible community spirit that makes Walney so special.

🌺 Everyone is welcome – young and old.

Please invite your family, friends and neighbours and help us make this a truly special evening of remembrance.

💗 WEAR IT PINK DAY – FRIDAY 23RD OCTOBER 💗LESS THAN 2 WEEKS TO GO😬👏🏼

Barrow AFC Foundation, Barrow AFC and some of our players are proud to be taking part in Wear It Pink Day in support of Breast Cancer Now. 🎀

We’ll be getting our pink on throughout the day, and we’ll also be holding a special Coffee Morning in the Fanzone! ☕💗

📅 Friday 23rd October 10am-1pm
📍 Barrow AFC Fanzone

Come along and join us for:

☕ FREE tea & coffee
🍰 Cake sale
🎟️ Pink-themed tombola
⚽ Some of our Barrow AFC players will be joining us for part of the morning!

It’s a great chance to come together as a football family and local community, have a cuppa, enjoy some cake and, most importantly, help raise money and awareness for an incredibly important cause. 💗

Our latest Barrow AFC Community Foundation visit saw first team players Thierry Latty-Fairweather, Ken Digie and Killian Barrett take part in a fantastic day of history, football and poetry at Barrow AFC.
