Nystagmus Awareness Day 2026 is this Saturday! Our story this week is from Fairouz.

Some people have told Fairouz that she is 'doing it on purpose', that she is not trying hard enough to control her nystagmus, as if greater willpower could stop it. Despite this obstacles, Fairouz is an avid musician and loves playing her guitar to express herself. You can read more about her experiences here: https://buff.ly/H47YEqk

Please share your story with us at [email protected] and help us raise awareness this Saturday!

We are proud to share that Vision Support Barrow & District was nominated for the Impact Award at the Spring North Awards and made it through to the finals.

The Impact Award celebrates organisations whose work creates meaningful, measurable, and lasting change within their communities. To be recognised as a finalist is a fantastic achievement and a testament to the dedication of our staff, volunteers, trustees, and supporters.

Every day, we work to improve the lives of people living with sight loss, helping them maintain independence, build confidence, and stay connected within their communities. Being shortlisted for this award recognises the long-term impact of that work and the difference it continues to make.

Congratulations to all the finalists and winners, and thank you to everyone who supports Vision Support Barrow & District. Together, we are making a lasting difference. 💜
