We are a local, independent, and self-funded mental health charity based in Barrow-in-Furness, providing support and services across Barrow, Ulverston, Millom and the Furness area 💙 Based in an area facing many health inequalities we empower our clients to access all community and society has to offer in order to build resilience. With a holistic approach to recovery we support the whole person wh
ich means tackling the root causes of poor mental health-often this is trauma, social deprivation and disadvantage, addressing issues around debt, inappropriate housing, coping skills, educational/vocational opportunities, relationships, etc. Client centred and service user led, we are based at the heart of the communities we serve, working in partnership with many local groups to ensure multiple needs are met. We attend local meetings and forums to promote the message that mental health is everybody's business. What are our main activities? Our services include:
• Supported Housing (4 units of dispersed independent housing)
• Advice and Information, signposting,
• Social and educational opportunities,
• Wellbeing activities including therapeutic groups, peer support, ecotherapy programme
• Supported volunteering
• Active Monitoring Service -guided self-help
• Crisis Support - 4.30pm-10pm Mon-Fri and 11am-5pm Weekends.
• Counselling
• 2 x Charity Shops

We offer clients a place where they are supported without judgement, advice, information support and advocacy and we signpost effectively and appropriately, we encourage people to find their own voice through empowerment and self-responsibility.
