Public notice about Walney Christmas markets

Due to the weather not looking good tomorrow we have had to decide to cha he the format of the markets

We will now have the stalls in the courtyard of the community centre.

The grotto will be still out the back (and it is looking brilliant) however we are not able to light up the garden in the same way we had planned too.

If you have tickets for the grotto from 4-7pm please use the front entrance.there is an area for a trolley park as we will be short on space.

In the main hall there will be hot food and drink availibke and lots of free Christmas activities for the children to do. There will be an area in the hall to Que to go out to the grotto in the garden

The market opens 2pm and free entry . If possible please try and pop along and support local. Us and our partners stitch have spent a lot of time and effort to try to provide something g for the community a d have had to change plans last minute

To Every SEN Parent Who Wakes Up Tired and Still Keeps Going…

PLEASE READ THIS:

None of this is your fault.
You’re not failing.
You’re not “too soft” or “too anxious” or “overreacting.”
You are doing the job of an entire system on your own while running on empty

You’re doing an unbelievable job.
You are the safe place your child comes back to.
You’re the reason they keep going.
Even when it feels like you’re falling apart inside.

Every day I’m hearing from parents who are holding everything together with strength they don’t even realise they have.

Different families.
Different situations.
But the same heartbreaking pattern:

Kids who are anxious, overwhelmed or burnt out.
Children masking all day then melting down at home.
Little ones who can’t sleep, can’t regulate, can’t switch off.
Older ones shutting down, acting out, or stuck in fight-flight just to get through the day.
Siblings being affected.
Parents stretched to breaking point.
Constant appointments, referrals, assessments, forms… and still no clear answers.

And on top of that?

You’re fighting your own guilt, exhaustion, and fear while trying to stay strong for everyone

The emotional load SEN parents carry is huge.
And yet you still show up.
Every single day.

You are the professional parents that will change the future for our kids 🙌🏽🙌🏽

Good afternoon everyone.

It's been a slow process trying to come up with a group that suits the members and potential members.

Unfortunately due to low numbers and some nights no attendances, the cost etc coming out of my own pocket I had to close the group. I just wasn't feasible for me and for this i do apologies!! 😢😥

I am however fully aware the NEED for something like this so I have been in talks with other professionals and we are happy to announce come new year i will be starting up again HOWEVER this will be a new group offering to a wider Sen audience! There will also be activities for your child/en to attend. This is much needed also after the closure of a certain group in Barrow by the council. Please note this with your supervision not a replacement for the group with closed.

More details will be announced soon so please keep an eye out. I am hoping if successful to offer more than one group a week however ill not run before I can walk.🤣

Please in the meantime let's spread the word. Add anyone who you think this will benefit from this page or even the group.

Good afternoon. Is everyone enjoying the sunshine?

Sorry we have been quite. It's been full of illness in my house the last few weeks. Seemed to have been one thing after the other. As they say it never rains it pores. Hoping for a better half term tho.

I would just like to say group unfortunately WILL NOT be running this upcoming Tuesday.

This is due to a meeting we are having to look at how we can improve the group going forward.

We are also looking at input from yourselves. What would you like to see, get from grouop?

Any suggestions or ideas you may have would be greatly appreciated.
