We’re excited to announce that Social Blend is now recruiting for our next intake of trainees!

We are looking for 8 new trainees to join our upcoming programme — designed to help you develop practical skills, build confidence, and gain experience that truly makes a difference.

We’re Hiring – Part-Time Café Facilitator ☕

Location: Eastwood Health Centre
Hours: 20 hours per week (Monday–Friday)
Pay: £12.60 per hour

We’re looking for a warm, reliable Café Facilitator to join Social Blend at Eastwood Health Centre. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys working with people, creating a welcoming café environment, and being part of a supportive community-focused team.

What you’ll be doing:

Supporting the day-to-day running of the café

Creating a friendly, inclusive space for customers

Working as part of a team in a health and community setting

Official launch celebrations at Social Blend! 🎉

We were delighted to mark the official ribbon-cutting of our Social Blend coffee shop at Braehead Centre, celebrating the next chapter for our 5th location ☕💛

A huge thank you to George Bowie and Cassi from Clyde 1 for joining us to help cut the red ribbon and celebrate this milestone.

Social Blend has been proudly serving the Braehead community while creating opportunities for young people with additional support needs and mental health challenges. Across our sites, we now support 45+ trainees and volunteers, alongside 15–20 school and college placements, and we’re excited to continue growing this impact.

If you haven’t popped in yet, come and support a social enterprise where every cup of coffee creates change.

Thank you for your continued support 💛

We’re navigating a few behind-the-scenes milestones, like reaching the VAT threshold, that come with building sustainable social enterprises 🌱

With the cost of living affecting so many, we’ve made small, thoughtful price increases to help absorb these changes while continuing to deliver quality, impact, and care for our communities. These will come into place on Monday 12th January.

🎄💙 A festive night in with our Social Blend family 💙🎄

Over 40 of our amazing Social Blend trainees, volunteers and team came together for our Social Blend Christmas Night In — a brilliant evening packed with music, games, great food and plenty of festive fun 🥳✨

Social Blend is about so much more than coffee. It’s about belonging, confidence, friendships and opportunities, and nights like this truly capture what makes the Social Blend community so special.

Seeing everyone relaxed, laughing, and enjoying time together, away from the day-to-day was a joy to be part of.

These moments matter. They create space to connect, celebrate achievements, and recognise the hard work, commitment and growth of everyone involved, from trainees taking huge steps forward, to volunteers and staff who support them every step of the way.

We’re incredibly proud of the Social Blend community and the supportive, welcoming environment that continues to grow year on year 💙

So here’s to more confidence, more opportunities and more shared moments in 2026 ✨

New staff member update!

Well at least for 5 mins you had your chance to be served your lattes and cake by Scotlands First Minister John Swinney MSP on his visit to open the new Parkhead Hub

Our 4th Social Blend Coffee Shop opened there back in April this year and has been doing fantastic for our trainees, volunteers and the Parkhead Community.

The team were delighted to host and engage with the first minister after his official opening of the hub and walk around tour this afternoon!

Tomorrow, we hope to attract Lewis Capaldi along to do a wee shift! We have an opening for a singing barista!

At Social Blend, our trainee and volunteering programme is all about opening doors, building confidence, and creating meaningful opportunities — and John is just one example of what happens when people feel included, valued and supported.

Every day, in each of our Social Blend cafés, something powerful happens. 💜💛

A young person tries a new skill.
Someone earns their first qualification.
A trainee serves a customer with confidence they didn’t have six months ago.
And sometimes… a young person steps into their first job. 💜💛

That’s why our coffee matters.

With five cafés across Glasgow, Renfrewshire and East Renfrewshire, we’ve supported 65+ trainees and helped 10 move into employment, through real-world training that changes futures and lives.
