ChemoHero is a North Devon charity gifting Boxes of Kindness to people starting chemotherapy, along with extra support including our Treat Trolley and counselling service.

The 26th of August marks five years since we lost Lisa. 🧡

Five years without the person who started ChemoHero and whose kindness, determination and huge heart made all of this possible.

Lisa created ChemoHero from her own experience of cancer treatment. What began with her wanting to make things a little kinder for other people going through chemotherapy became something that has now touched the lives of so many people.

Five years on, her idea is still here. Her kindness is still being passed from one person to another, every time a Box of Kindness is given, every time someone is supported, and every time somebody chooses to do something kind in ChemoHero's name.

Those of us who knew and loved Lisa miss her enormously. There are so many moments when we wish she could see what ChemoHero has become and just how many people continue to be part of what she started.

🌸 OPEN GARDEN IN AID OF CHEMOHERO 🌸

Join us at beautiful Stone Farm in Bideford on Saturday 15 and Sunday 16 August, from 2pm to 5pm.

Explore two acres of wonderful country gardens, including colourful herbaceous borders, a Japanese garden, white garden, “hot garden”, dry-stone terraces, orchard, woodland meadow, walled garden and extensive vegetable gardens.

Yesterday, Rob welcomed Mark and Ed to ChemoHero HQ to say a huge thank you to NFU Mutual for choosing ChemoHero as a beneficiary of the NFU Mutual Agency Giving Fund.

NFU Mutual supports local charities and communities across the country, and we are incredibly grateful to have received an amazing £7,899 donation.

This generous support will help us continue to gift our Boxes of Kindness to people at the start of their chemotherapy treatment, as well as provide our Kindness Bags for cancer patients facing those unexpected trips into hospital.

A huge thank you to Mark, Ed and everyone at NFU Mutual for supporting ChemoHero and helping us continue to spread a little kindness when it’s needed most. 🧡💙

Back in May, Braunton Caen Rotary kindly chose ChemoHero as their charity for this year's Braunton Village Fair.

Last night, Nicola and Rob had the pleasure of attending one of their Rotary meetings, where they were presented with an amazing £2,000 donation from the event. 👏

The Village Fair was such a wonderful day. We met so many lovely people who stopped by our gazebo to say hello, learn more about ChemoHero, and support our work. Thanks to your generosity, we also raised an additional £222 through donations, merchandise sales, and plenty of people trying their luck on our Human Fruit Machine! 🍒🎰

To everyone at Braunton Caen Rotary, everyone who volunteered, attended the fair, visited our stand, or supported the event in any way, thank you. Your kindness is very much appreciated from us all at ChemoHero. 🧡

We want to say a huge congratulations and thank you to Ness, she really is a true Chemo Hero.

Ness received treatment for breast cancer in 2018 and was gifted one of our Boxes of Kindness during her treatment journey.

This month, she set herself an incredible challenge, cycling 256km from Dieppe to Paris. Not only did she complete it, she absolutely smashed it. Finishing in Paris at Notre Dame 🇫🇷

Her determination, resilience and positive attitude have been inspiring. Along the way, she has been an amazing ambassador for ChemoHero, helping to spread the word about our work and raising funds to support people starting cancer treatment.
