The Voice Choir North Devon’s lively, friendly choir! Men and women of all ages from across the area, who love to sing. Great for mental health and wellbeing.

NO auditions, NO experience needed. FREE taster session. Wednesdays 7:15pm Rugby Club The choir meets at The Rugby Club, Barnstaple, on Wednesday evenings from 7.15pm to 9.00pm. and join a group of enthusiastic people from all walks of life who love to sing – no need to read music and no experience necessary. We sing for fun and also perform. We have members from across North Devon from Barnstaple to Bideford, Ilfracombe to Torrington, South Molton to Morthoe and everywhere in between. Our choir leader is Jackie McGowan Hayes a Natural Voice Practitioner. Jackie previously ran a community choir in Dorset called The Dolly Spartans and since moving to Devon she has helped with the North Devon Community Gospel Choir and run singing workshops in North Devon and North Cornwall. The Voice perform several concerts each year, mainly in support of charities. They are also available for Weddings and other celebrations. FOLLOW ON INSTAGRAM

Some photos of our day singing at Floating Bye on Instow beach.. a very special and moving event. Many of our choir have lost loved ones in recent months and this made the day all the more poignant… and we remembered, with love, our dear friend Howard from bass section, who passed away recently.

What an absolutely fabulous end of term session last night. A lovely atmosphere, a fabulous audience and lots of lovely food after! The choir sounded incredible and we had some brilliant audience feedback - that we really moved people including giving goosebumps and tears. For us… touching people with music makes it all worthwhile. As a choir, we’d like to thank our brilliant choir leader, Jackie, for her leadership, enthusiasm and endless talents pulling together ordinary people to make a beautiful collective sound. We have one last performance before our break… singing for Floating Bye on Instow beach this Sunday.

What a great day! Today we sang in St. Mary’s church for the Pilton Green Man … the audience was fabulous… we were so happy to receive so many amazing and positive comments. The day was hot, but it was worth the heat to be able to perform at one of our favourite events. Such a lovely atmosphere. Here are a few images before the concert. 😊

Many of the members of The Voice Choir would say that Wednesday is the best day of the week. Why? You may ask. Because we not only enjoy a great night’s singing but we also have great fun chatting, laughing and enjoying each other’s company. Being in a group like this is so good for the mind and well-being. Being part of The Voice Choir is not all about the singing. We have a great social life together enjoying a whole range of get-togethers and outings. Our members are all great friends and we'd love you to be part of it!

It’s for men and women of all ages and abilities, no experience needed and you don't have to read music. In fact you don’t have to be a great singer… you just have to love singing. It’s relaxed and uplifting, we’re not stuffy and we sing a massive mix of music styles.

Up for it? Come along for free on a Wednesday at 7.15pm Barnstaple Rugby Club (free parking)

😂 One thing they don’t tell you when you join The Voice Choir…

You come for the singing, but you stay for the fun!

The warm-ups can sound as lovely as the songs we sing… and sometimes the warm-ups are a little bit bonkers… but always fun.

The truth is, the laughter is a big part of what makes choir so special. It’s impossible to have a bad day when you’re surrounded by people who can laugh at themselves, support each other, and enjoy every rehearsal together.

A good choir needs harmony. A great choir needs harmony and a healthy sense of humour. 😄🎶

Our choir leader sings with another local choir called Vocal Accord - and this week you have two opportunities to hear them sing in their Summer Concert - tonight in Marwood Community Hall or on Friday at Tapeley Park! Those who have seen them before know that they will be in for at treat! As polished performers and accomplished singers, the evening promises to be a fabulous night of music. Tickets can be booked online.
