Mindful Movement for 60+s is about so much more than exercise. It’s about feeling stronger, steadier, calmer, and yet more energised and connected to your body each day.

Gentle chair yoga, qigong and breathwork to support you after 60 years!

Cost: free (thanks to Sports England and North Devon Council funding) - donations (from £2.50-£3.00 are welcome though to help to sustain the class).

🌿 Free Summer Yin Yoga Workshop 🌿

Saturday 13 June | 10am–12pm
Barnstaple Library (top floor)

Take time out to slow down, stretch gently, and unwind in a calm, welcoming space.

This free Yin Yoga workshop offers a peaceful morning of:

🌿 Gentle, floor-based yoga postures
🌿 Breathwork and deep relaxation
🌿 A calming Yoga Nidra meditation
Yin Yoga uses slow, supported stretches to help release tension in the body, quiet the mind, and support rest and overall wellbeing. No experience is needed — everyone is welcome, just as you are.

After the session, you’re invited to stay and enjoy a friendly bring-and-share lunch together. Bring along a simple vegetarian offering for the table if you can!

What to bring:

• A yoga mat (if you have one)
• A blanket or cushion for extra comfort
• A vegetarian dish to share for lunch.

Exciting news! Due to popular demand, we’re launching a brand new Mindful Movement for Life: 60+ group at Barnstaple Library 🎉

These gentle weekly sessions include chair yoga, qigong and breathwork to help improve mobility, balance, relaxation and overall wellbeing — all in a friendly, welcoming space.

🗓 Mondays from 12:00–1:00pm
☕ Tea/coffee and chat from 11:30am

Free Summer Yin Yoga Community Workshop: Sat 13 June, 100-12.00 with a community bring/share lunch afterwards (at Barnstaple library)

This gentle Yin practice will guide you to use breathwork, and relax into long, meditative holding postures with Yoga Nidra to restore, strengthen and support minds, bodies and energy flow in summertime. We will focus on giving ourselves space to slow down, relax and balance - bringing a sense of peace into our mind and body.

Suitable for all levels including beginners.
Whilst free (thanks to National Lottery support), donations are welcomed to support our mindful wellbeing programmes with groups across our community.

There will be another delicious community 'bring and share' lunch afterwards - enjoy sharing lunch together in a friendly, welcoming group. You can join in as much or little as you want to.

🌷There is a springtime free Wheels of Ananda Mindful Movement and Wellbeing workshop: Sat 25 April 2026, 10.00-13.00 at Barnstaple library.

It promises to be a wonderfully uplifting morning of time and space for you to nurture, self-reflect and reset in mind and body, nourishing yourself as we move into springtime.

With springtime practices of qigong, bioenergetic release, yin yoga and yoga nidra, and breathwork and mindfulness practices the morning will help you to nourish, nurture and support you in mind and body as we move into warmer, light days of springtime.

There will be a community 'bring-and-share' lunch after the workshop as before, to enjoy the warmth of connection, acceptance and enjoy sharing lunch together in a friendly, welcoming group.

We really enjoyed facilitating our Wheels of Ananda CIC Saturday winter qigong & yin yoga workshop which saw 30 people across our community of all ages and levels, gather at Barnstaple library to enjoy a morning of free winter qigong, yin yoga and breath-work. These practices really support mind and body to boost vitality and immunity, resetting the nervous system and creating inner calm and space in which to truly relax and rest in these colder months.

We then all sat down to enjoy a delicious 'bring-and'share' brunch together.

Thank you to everyone who came and for sharing such a joyful, uplifting morning- it felt like a breath of fresh air!

The Wheels of Ananda CIC is really happy to offer a Free Mindful Yin Yoga & Qigong workshop to bring inner glow, wellbeing and nourishment into these beautiful cold wintery January days.

This Winter Yin Yoga & Qigong workshop is suitable for all levels (including beginners). Using gentle bioenergetic movement to cultivate inner warmth, nourishment and vitality, we will then move into the stillness of Yin Yoga, relaxing into longer holds to release habits of stress and tension. The experience is like having a deep yogic massage that aims to balance, restore and uplift your energy levels, boot immunity and nurture emotional balance, rather like recharging a flat battery!

This is a FREE donations-only workshop and is followed by a friendly 'bring and share' lunch, to cultivate warmth, connection and community. Please bring along a small dish of something vegetarian to share and put on the table.

This is a free Wheels of Ananda CIC Community wellbeing offering, kindly funded by North Devon Council Flourishing Culture Winter Events grant. You are welcome to offer a donation to support our mindful wellbeing North Devon community programmes to support women survivors of domestic abuse, and people living with terminal illness and cancer to manage their life journeys through stressful times.

Spaces on this wonderfully restorative morning of yoga and wellbeing are limited, so please get in touch with Naomi on 07985 337 402 to book. Suitable for all levels from beginners to long time yogis - feel free to share with friends.

I’m delighted that FREE Mindful Movement for Life 60+ classes begin next week on Monday 5th Jan 2026.

🌿 Class details:

BARNSTAPLE library, room 2B:
Mondays, 10.00–11.00am with time after for a cup of tea. (This class is changing to 1100-1200 from Monday 9th Feb).

ILFRACOMBE Lantern Centre, Tuesdays, 1115-1215 with time for a cup of tea afterwards.

🌿 There is space for a few more people to join in both groups.

Please get in touch directly on 07985 337 402, to book a place, as these are limited, and offered on a first-come, first-served basis, in order to keep our room space feeling calm and spacious.

🌿 I'm really looking forward to seeing familiar faces and welcoming new ones at the start of this new term. Please feel free to get in touch if you’d like to join us for gentle chair-based yoga, qigong (with standing options), breath-work and mindfulness to improve health and vitality, joint mobility, flexibility, strength and mind-body wellness and confidence.
