st be in year 8 at school (or equivalent if home schooled) and 12 yrs or older to join. A person can not join after their 18th birthday. If you've made it to this page then you're probably looking for a challenge; something to bring out what you're really capable of. Well, Air Cadets is where you get to prove it - you may even surprise yourself with what you can achieve. If you are male or female, between 13 and 18 then you are eligible to join. Volunteers
If you're aged over 20 you can volunteer. There is no need for military experience or any form of previous training. We're just looking for suitable, enthusiastic individuals to help our cadets get the most from their time with us. There are opportunities for roles as Civilain Instructors and uniformed staff. We’re committed to ensuring that all our activities are safe, well organised and that our members gain a structured and invaluable experience. There are some costs associated with joining - we make an initial charge as a deposite for uniform issue. This is currently £20.00, refundable when a cadet leaves. There is a subscription charge of £25.00 per quarter, payable in advance. Most activities, including flying and shooting are free, but there are small charges for accommodation at annual and adventure training camps. Overseas camps normally require a contribution to cover transport so can be more expensive.
