This is one of the busiest and most heartbreaking times of year for rabbit rescues.

Every spring, hundreds of rabbits are abandoned or surrendered—many bought on impulse over Easter, many misunderstood, and many simply discarded.

Right now, rescues across the UK are stretched to their limits. With limited space, rising costs, and fewer resources, it’s becoming harder to keep up with the growing number of rabbits needing urgent help.

With Easter just around the corner, we wanted to share this important reminder with you… Rabbits are for life, not just for Easter 🐰🐰

❌ Rabbits are not good pets for children & are most definitely not a good Easter gift ❌

Rabbits might look like a cuddly toy & therefore be attractive to children who see a cute, fluffy bunny and decide they want one. However the reality is that Rabbits are rarely cuddly and children often lose interest quickly.

When purchased as a gift for a child, rabbits are often left alone in a hutch at the end of the garden or even abandoned. This is why it’s important to educate yourself on their needs before committing.

Sisters Bonnie and Claudette would like to introduce themselves to you, they are 3 year old Lionhead rabbits 🦁

They are just as fabulous as their hairstyles, and are a joy to watch hop around searching for greens 😋

They've been in our care for just over a month and have grown in confidence in their foster home, they enjoy living outdoors but could also live indoors in their forever home!

The world of rescuing can be tough and often impacts our own lives, so our small team of volunteers is taking a much-needed break until the New Year to rest and recharge.

This is the sad reality of rescue. Beautiful bunnies waiting for their forever homes and some for much too long. Although we provide them with the best care, its so sad to see all of our boy bunnies still sat in rescue when we know they would thrive in a home.

In the picture below are just some of our neutered male rabbits. All are looking for a home with a neutered female bunny. 🐰❤️
