🌟 What a Difference a Day Makes! 🌟

πŸ“ Today in the Stairfoot Ward, the EnviroCentral Team and Shane from the Central Caretaker Team attended the park on Leslie Road, Kendray, following reports from a local resident of drug use in the bushes at the side of the park.

🚨 Upon inspection, we uncovered a makeshift den that was being used for πŸ”₯ setting fires and taking ❌ illegal substances.

πŸ’ͺ The team, along with Shane, got straight to work by cutting back all of the overgrown bushes and opening up the area to prevent it from being misused and to make it safer for local residents.

πŸ‘ The results speak for themselves:

πŸ—‘οΈ 15 bags of litter collected
🌿 8 van loads of green waste removed
πŸ‘€ Area cleared, opened up and made safer for everyone to enjoy

🚜 To complete the work, we will be sending the Robiflail down next week to finish the job.

πŸ™ A huge thank you to everyone involved and to the resident who reported the issue. Your information helps us take action and make a real difference in our communities.

🌿🚜 ENVIROCENTRAL TEAM IN WORSBROUGH – ANOTHER BUSY DAY MAKING A DIFFERENCE! 🚜🌿

The Envirocentral team have been hard at work across Worsbrough today, carrying out a range of environmental improvements to help keep local neighbourhoods looking clean, green and welcoming for everyone. πŸ’š

πŸ’§πŸŒΈ We started the morning with a return visit to Chilton Street Park, watering the plants we installed yesterday to give them the best chance to establish and flourish.

πŸŒΏβœ‚οΈ Our next stop was the ginnel between Park Road and Vernon Road, where the team cleared weeds and cut back overgrown hedges, opening up the pathway and giving the area a much-needed tidy-up.

🚜🌱 We then tackled the steep banking on Vernon Road, cutting back tall grass in an area that is too steep for a ride-on mower to access safely. The team also removed a tree that had been cut down and dumped on the verge, restoring the area and removing an eyesore.

πŸšΆβ€β™‚οΈπŸ§Ή Moving on to Shields Avenue, we cleared another ginnel connecting to Vernon Road, improving access and making the route cleaner and safer for residents and school users.

πŸŒ³βœ‚οΈ Finally, we cut back overhanging branches along the wall on Vernon Road near the school, helping to keep footpaths clear and improving visibility in the area.

🚨⚑ EMERGENCY RESPONSE IN KENDRAY! ⚑🚨

As the day was drawing to a close, the team received an urgent call-out in Kendray.

An overgrown bush had become so large that it was preventing the bin lorry from accessing the road to carry out waste collections. With bin day due tomorrow morning, there was no time to waste! πŸ—‘οΈπŸš›

πŸ’ͺ⚑ The team reacted quickly, attended the site and cut the bush back, ensuring access was restored in time for collections and helping to avoid disruption for local residents.

β˜€οΈ A sunny Wednesday for the EnvirCentral team!

The team started the day strimming along Pogmoor Lane, helping to make the dog waste bin more accessible for local residents and dog walkers. 🐢

They were then joined by CDO Craig to carry out planting projects in Chilton Park and at Albion House. The colourful flowers were carefully chosen to brighten up these areas following previous improvement works.🌸🌻

It was great to see local residents coming out to share their views and ideas with local councillors, helping to shape future plans for the community.

A productive day all round, with positive improvements and great community engagement! πŸͺ»πŸŒΏ

One of our favourite volunteers Ian, is running again to raise funds for Cancer Research ❀️

Ian is a local litter picker who attends mencap and is blind in one eye, and partially sighted in his other and ran last year and raised funds for a mum recovering from cancer, and he wanted to do something again πŸ™Œ

If you'd like to donate to his cause you can here https://fundraise.cancerresearchuk.org/page/ians-2nd-big-run or feel free to come cheer him on on the day πŸƒ

🌿πŸ’ͺ DODWORTH DAY – WHAT A DIFFERENCE A DAY MAKES! πŸ’ͺ🌿

🚜πŸ”₯ The team absolutely smashed it today, completing a huge amount of work across Dodworth and making a real difference to local footpaths and green spaces!

πŸ“ Bowden Grove
The day started at Bowden Grove, where the team cut the footpath all the way down to the football ground, opening up the route and making it much more accessible for residents. ⚽🌱

πŸ“ Football Ground to Rose Hill Drive
But they didn’t stop there! πŸ’₯ The team carried on from the football ground all the way through to Rose Hill Drive, cutting back dense brambles, overgrown vegetation and tall grass. The result? Clearer, safer paths that can now be used without having to battle through overgrowth. πŸŒΏβœ‚οΈπŸšΆβ€β™‚οΈπŸšΆβ€β™€οΈ

πŸ“ Keresforth Road
Next up was the banking on Keresforth Road at the end of the High Street. The team cut back the tall grass to improve visibility for both motorists and pedestrians, helping to make the area safer for everyone. πŸš—πŸ‘€πŸšΆ

πŸ“ Stafford Walk & Allotment Paths
To round off an incredibly productive day, the team worked along Stafford Walk before clearing the footpath that links both allotment sites at the rear of Stafford Walk. πŸŒ±πŸ§‘β€πŸŒΎπŸšΆ

πŸ‘πŸ‘ From footpaths and green spaces to roadside visibility improvements, the team covered a huge amount of ground today and the results speak for themselves.

πŸ’š A massive well done to everyone involved for another day of hard work, dedication and community pride.

πŸ”₯🌿 Clearer paths. Safer routes. A tidier Dodworth. That’s what a day’s work looks like! 🌿πŸ”₯

🌟🚜 Another Productive Day for the EnviricoCentral Team! 🚜🌟

β˜€οΈ Today, the EnviricoCentral team got started bright and early and made great progress across several areas of the community!

🌿🧹 First stop: We cleared weeds and removed rubbish from the ginnel between Sheffield Road and Burleigh Street, helping to keep the pathway clean, safe, and accessible for everyone. πŸšΆβ€β™‚οΈβœ¨

πŸ—‘οΈπŸ’ͺ Next up: The team tackled the three backings between Castle Street, Wall Street, Pond Street, and Nursery Street. We:
βœ”οΈ Removed large amounts of rubble πŸͺ¨
βœ”οΈ Safely collected discarded needles ⚠️
βœ”οΈ Cleared overgrown weeds 🌱
βœ”οΈ Bagged up all waste ready for disposal πŸ—‘οΈ

πŸ‘ The transformation was fantastic to see!

πŸŒ³βœ‚οΈ To finish the day, we paid a visit to our good friends at Barnsley Main, where we carried out grass cutting to help keep their grounds looking neat, tidy, and well-maintained. πŸŒΏπŸ’š

πŸ™Œ A massive thank you to our hardworking team for their dedication and commitment to making our communities cleaner, safer, and more welcoming every day.

πŸ’šπŸ‘ Together, we’re making a difference!

🌳πŸ’ͺ Today in the Stairfoot Ward πŸ’ͺ🌳

Another busy day for the team, working hard to keep our communities looking their best! πŸ‘

🌲 Ardsley Park
The day began at Ardsley Park, where the team responded to a tree that had lost a large limb overnight. While the Envirocentral team were on site, the issue was spotted and our team got straight to work, cutting up and safely removing the fallen branch to make the area safe again. πŸš›πŸͺ΅

🌼 Zig Zag Path
We then returned to the Zig Zag Path to cut back vegetation now that the wildflowers have gone to seed. This important pathway provides easy access to the bowling green for residents using mobility scooters and mobility aids, helping to keep the route open and accessible for everyone. β™ΏπŸŒΏ

πŸ₯• Cumberland Drive Allotments
Next stop was Cumberland Drive, where we cleared back overgrown vegetation along the access path leading to the allotments, making it easier and safer for plot holders to get to their gardens. πŸšΆβ€β™‚οΈπŸŒ±

βœ‚οΈ Neville Avenue, Kendray
The team then headed over to Kendray to trim and tidy the circular hedge on Neville Avenue, giving the area a fresh and well-maintained appearance. 🌳✨

🌿 Bramble Removal
To finish the day, we tackled a large bramble bush behind the electrical substation, clearing the area and improving access and visibility. πŸ’ͺ🌱

βœ… Safer pathways
βœ… Improved access
βœ… Tidier green spaces

A fantastic day’s work by the team, making a real difference across the Stairfoot Ward! πŸ‘πŸ’š

🚜🌿 Specialist Equipment in the Central Area 🌿🚜

Today, Wraggy was out with the EnviroCentral Team using the powerful RoboFlail to tackle a very thick bramble patch next to the TPT car park at Worsbrough. πŸ’ͺ🌱

Unfortunately, this area has been plagued by fly-tippers, with dense vegetation providing cover for people to dump and hide rubbish. 🚯❌ Our aim today was to open up the space, improve visibility, and help protect this valuable green area from further abuse. πŸŒ³πŸ‘€

By clearing back the overgrowth, we’re making the site safer, more accessible, and far less attractive to those who choose to dispose of waste illegally. πŸ‘πŸŒΏ

πŸ‘ A fantastic effort by Wraggy and the EnviroCentral Team, working hard to keep our green spaces clean, safe, and welcoming for everyone to enjoy. πŸ’šπŸŒ

🌧️πŸ’ͺ Wet Work in Worsbrough! πŸ’ͺ🌧️

The rain certainly didn’t stop us today! 🌦️

πŸšΆβ€β™‚οΈπŸŒΏ The team started the day at Maltas Court, clearing pathways of weeds and overgrown grass, as well as cutting back hedges that were creeping over boundaries. βœ‚οΈπŸŒ± This has helped improve access and tidied up the area for local residents. πŸ™Œ

πŸ€β™»οΈ Later, we joined forces with the Worsbrough Tidy Team, where 7 amazing volunteers and 1 local councillor braved the elements πŸŒ§οΈπŸ’¨ to help make a difference in the community.

πŸ—‘οΈπŸ‘ Together, the team collected an incredible 28 bags of litter! πŸŽ‰πŸ’š

A massive THANK YOU to everyone who turned out and showed such fantastic community spirit despite the weather. πŸŒŸπŸ’™ Your hard work is helping to keep Worsbrough clean, green, and a place we can all be proud of. 🌳🏑✨
