I took some donations of single bedding, warm fleece jackets and boxes of biscuits to Cornerstone homeless hub at Bishop Auckland.
Nicky and Bob gave me a tour of the Hub and their charity shop which also sells the groups handmade wooden garden furniture.

We have Molly from Home Instead (working with our local Age UK shop) popping into our store on Wednesday, 3rd December to collect some donations of Christmas gifts for local elderly residents.
Please see suggested items for donation on the poster below to support their "Be a Santa" appeal.
Your donations can be given to Molly on the day, or left at the checkout customer service desk before then.

Poppy Appeal 2025 - funds raised

We're very pleased to report that £9,466.59 was raised in store, plus £1,686.98 raised by local businesses and schools.....giving a grand total for our area of £11,153.57....a fantastic amount!

Thank you so much to all who donated and to those who helped to run this year's collection.

We shall remember them...

Tomorrow, Wednesday 5th November, John Blissett - one of our lovely RBL poppy appeal volunteers will be looking after the Poppy Appeal stall on the market.
Please call by to pick up some of the lovely poppy items available and have a chat with John.
If you can't come along tomorrow, our band of volunteers will be running the poppy stall within Morrisons between 9am to 6pm (4pm Sunday) right up to lunchtime on Tuesday 11th November.
