💙 Help Us Support Our Local Community 💙

At Barlaston & Tittensor Scout Group, we're proud to be launching our first Annual Food Drive in support of Stone Community Hub.
Our Scouts will be collecting and sorting donated food and essential household items, helping to support local people and families who may be facing difficult times. It's a fantastic opportunity for our young people to put the Scout values of kindness, service and community into action.

If you're able to donate, we'd be incredibly grateful. Every item donated can make a real difference to someone in our local area.
Please also help us spread the word by sharing this post with your friends, family, neighbours and local community groups. The further it reaches, the more support we can provide to those who need it most.

Thank you for helping us make a positive difference in our community. ❤️

🐿️ We're Looking for More Squirrel Scout Volunteers! 🐿️

Our Squirrel Scout section is currently full, with more young people waiting for the opportunity to join. To allow us to offer places to even more local children, we need a few more adult volunteers to join our team.

📅 Squirrels meet every Tuesday from 5:15pm to 6:15pm

We're looking for enthusiastic adults who can help us provide fun, safe and exciting experiences for our youngest members.

✅ No previous experience necessary✅ Full support and guidance provided✅ A small amount of online training to complete✅ Scout DBS check required✅ Uniform provided✅ If you can only help every other week, that's absolutely fine. Any time you can give makes a huge difference!

You don't need any special skills, just an open mind, a sense of fun, and a desire to help young people thrive.

By volunteering for just an hour a week, or even just every other week, you'll help us grow the section and give more local children the chance to experience the adventure, friendship and fun that Scouting offers.

If you've ever thought about getting involved, we'd love to hear from you. Please send us a private message for an informal chat and find out more.

💚 More volunteers means more places, more adventures and more opportunities for local young people. 💚

🦸‍♂️🐿️ Local superheroes spotted in the village! 🐿️🦸‍♀️
Our Squirrel Scouts suited up as superheroes and took on a litter-picking mission around the local area today. Armed with litter pickers and plenty of enthusiasm, they helped make our community cleaner, greener and brighter! 🌍💚
We're so proud of our young heroes proving that you don't need superpowers to make a difference, just a willingness to help others.
Well done, Super Squirrels! 👏✨

Over 50 young people from across Barlaston & Tittensor Scout Group spent the weekend learning traditional Scouting skills, making memories and enjoying the outdoors.

We'd also like to thank our amazing local community for the support you've shown us, especially following the recent robbery. Your generosity has helped us continue providing adventures like this for our young people.

Today we’re celebrating Scouting’s birthday, and we want to send a huge thank you to all our incredible volunteers here in Barlaston & Tittensor. Everything we do for our young people is only possible because of you.

It’s been a year of big changes and even bigger growth — especially with the addition of our Squirrels section — and we’re proud to be thriving more than ever.

If you can spare a little time, we’d love you to join our team and become part of our Scouting family. Every role makes a difference, and every volunteer helps our young people shine.

It's our birthday, Scouts! 🎉 🥳 ✨

119 years since the very first experimental Scout camp pitched up on Brownsea Island, Dorset.

We’re so proud of everything our volunteers have done since then to give young people a place to belong. Thank you to you all! 🙌

📣 Important Update – Treasurer Needed

We want to share that Julia has decided to step down from her role as Treasurer after many years of dedicated service to Barlaston & Tittensor Scout Group. We’re hugely grateful for everything she has contributed and wish her all the best.

We now urgently need to appoint a new Group Treasurer. This is a key volunteer role that helps keep our finances running smoothly. You don’t need to be an accountant — just organised, reliable, and comfortable with basic record‑keeping. Full support and guidance will be provided.

If you’re interested, or know someone who might be, please get in touch with us as soon as possible. Our young people rely on volunteers like you to keep Scouting thriving in our community.

Thank you for your support.

🌲 Community Help Needed – Can You Help Us Find the Woodland Owner?

We’re reaching out to the local community to help us identify the owner of the woodland directly next to Barlaston & Tittensor Scout Hut.

Our Scout Group is growing fast, and we’d love to explore the possibility of using this beautiful woodland area for outdoor activities, learning new skills, and giving our young people even more opportunities to enjoy nature.

If you are the owner—or you know who owns the land—please get in touch with us.
We’d be more than happy to manage, maintain, and care for the woodland as part of any agreement.

Thank you for supporting local Scouting and helping us give our young people the best experiences possible.

🌟 Our First Ever Amazon Wish List! 🌟

This is the first time we’ve created an Amazon Wish List for Barlaston & Tittensor Scout Group, and we’re reaching out to our amazing community for a little support.

As our group continues to grow, so does the kit we need to give our young people the best possible experiences. If anyone — or any local business — is able to buy something from the list, it would make a real difference. Even the smallest item helps us run better programmes, replace worn‑out equipment, and keep offering brilliant adventures for our Squirrels, Beavers, Cubs and Scouts.

💛 Our Wish List:

🚨 Urgent Help Needed – Scout Hut Toilets 🚽💚

As our Barlaston & Tittensor Scout Group keeps growing, our toilet facilities just can’t keep up. We’re down to one working toilet, and the old outside toilet and urinal urgently need reinstating so we can safely support all our young people.

We need help now from anyone with plumbing or maintenance skills who can:

• Reinstate the old toilet/urinal
• Update and improve the current toilet

Even a small bit of time or advice would make a huge difference to the group.

If you can help, please get in touch. Thank you for supporting your local Scouts 💚
