Magnificent support by residents of Banstead, Nork and Tattenhams for Rotary's local partner charities as £13,800 raised at Christmas!

The club held a Cheque Presentation Dinner at the Sutton Bowling Club on January 28th.

Some of the charities to benefit include: Home Start, Dyscover, Age Concern, National Autistic Society Surrey, The Good Company Foodbank, Epsom and Ewell Talking Newspaper, Diamond Riding School, Maggies at the Marsden, Q.E.F., Princess Alice Hospice, Crossroads Care Surrey, Transform Housing & Support and Banstead Scouts.

Banstead Rotary’s main Christmas activity is the Santa Sleigh which tours around the streets of Banstead Village, Nork, Tattenhams and Preston Hall from the beginning of December for three weeks up until Christmas. The Club also organises supermarket collections and this season they were at Waitrose Banstead and at ASDA in Burgh Heath.

A big thank you n behalf of Banstead Rotary and its Partner Charities to the people of Banstead for their generosity which gives vital support to these local charities.

Santa, sleigh and the lovely elves are at Waitrose Banstead today (Friday). Please support our very deserving local charities. Card and, of course cash gratefully accepted.

Santa aboard his sleigh together with the elves will be out this evening from 5:30pm until 8:00pm in the PRESTON HALL ESTATE. Listen out for him and remember, we are collecting for a range of local charities who rely on your generous support.

Tomorrow (Friday 13th) we are at Waitrose, Banstead during the day and then at ASDA Burgh Heath on Saturday.

Santa and his elves will be out with the sleigh again this evening from 5:30pm until 8:00pm starting along Warren Road (from Nork clinic) and then crossing by the Driftbridge to continue down Ruden Way.

Santa began his rounds last night in Banstead Rotary's sleigh around the streets of Nork.

This week he will be out on Wednesday around the Garratts Lane area. Then on Thursday he will be in Nork again starting in Rose Bushes and continuing around Partridge Mead and Roundwood Way.

Should you miss him he will be spending the day at ASDA Burgh Heath on Friday 6th and at Waitrose Banstead on Saturday 7th.

Banstead Schools Receive their Christmas Trees

Our busy Christmas schedule continues as our volunteers distribute Christmas Trees to our local schools. This year we visited:

These trees are one of the ways your generous donations at Chistmas and other times of the year help our local community.

Christmas Tree for the High Street

Despite the windy conditions on Sunday November 24th our team of Rotarians was out and about early to erect the Christmas tree in the centre of the roundabout on Banstead High Street with the help of Evergreen Wholsale Nurseries. Lights will be added in the coming days so all is ready for Santa on his sleigh to perform the switch-on at the Banstead Village Residents' Association Event on Thurday 28th November between 5:50pm and 6:15pm approx. Don't miss it!
