A great effort from Carrie, firstly making the trip from Dorset to North Wales to climb Snowdon for sunrise, in some challenging conditions, who took on everything the mountain could throw at us.

Our sunrise consisted of a couple of shades of grey, we took a detour to Lechog to get some amazing photos as the sun came out and the clouds parted for some atmospheric and special moments.

A huge thanks again to
Keela Outdoors for the support & clothing they have provided me for when I take people out onto the hill.

A fabulous day on Yr Wyddfa/Snowdon with the girls as they completed their UK 4 Peaks challenge, they have climbed the 4 highest peaks in each country of the UK, in some appalling weather and a huge amount of logistics, this is all in aid of Together For Short Lives and the amazing work they do for all the Hospices, what a way to end Childrens Hospice Week,

Mountains they have climbed and what a privilege to walk

Out today on Snowdon with CHAT UK - Children's Hospices Across The UK who are fundraising and raising awareness of Childrens Hospice.

It's Children's Hospice week

Francesca, is a Children's hospice nurse and has climbed 3 of the 4 UK PEAKS with the final being Yr Wyddfa today 💜

Today feels especially meaningful as we climb our final peak, Snowdon/Yr Wyddfa.

We are privileged to be joined by bereaved parent Andy, and so it feels fitting that we dedicate today’s climb to his sons, Charlie and Thomas. Every step today is taken in their memory, to say their names, to recognise their lives, and to honour the love that continues long after loss.

Andy’s story is one of love, resilience and finding purpose in helping other families through the mountains that have helped carry him.

This is Charlie and Thomas’ story…

‘Hi I’m Andy, I first set foot on a mountain in 1998 during a Prince’s Trust expedition in North Wales which started a life long passion for the mountains.

I’m lucky to have been to some fantastic places and make very good friends in the mountains over the years. 2018, life took a dramatic turn after multiple ectopic and miscarriages we had our boy Charlie born which was unexpected and unbelievable. May 2019, our lives we’re turned upside down when Charlie choked and was resuscitated in the shopping center.

Many months in Alderhey hospital including almost 7 on the Paediatric Intensive Care Unit, we unfortunately found Charlie had an Ultra rare genetic disease called SMARD1, Sarah his mum, was also pregnant at the time, unfortunately Thomas also had the same genetic condition confirmed from amneosentis. February 2020 we left Claire House Childrens Hospice after Charlie passed away, we had lost both Thomas 16weeks Gestation & Charlie 17months old to the condition.

I set about giving back to Claire House Children’s Hospice Claire House Childrens Hospice , and have spent the last 6 years fundraising in his memory to help Children’s charities and raise awareness of the condition.

I have been out to the Alpine mountains twice to complete a fundraiser for TfSL. Last year I set up Mountains With Memories Mountains With Memories which aims to give those affected by the loss of pregnancy, baby and Childloss Free to attend days in the mountains, i recently qualified as a Summer Mountain Leader to facilitate this, its a long term project to help other as the mountains have helped me.’

For Charlie and Thomas ❤️

It was Wetter than an otters pocket today on Yr Wyddfa.

My Pinnacle Jacket keeping me warm as it keeps the wind out really well, I left one of my pockets down by mistake and there was a puddle in the pocket, but it hadn't leaked through!

A huge thank you to who've supplied me with clothing for my Mountains With Memories activities.

I have invested a lot in trying to create something special and help others who've have been in myself and my partner Sarah's situation of having miscarriages, Ectopic pregnancies and also faced childloss and honestly having support from such an amazing clothing company really and truly helps me!

Snowdon traverse, Up Miners Path, Summit and then down Llanberis path, very wet day, pretty cold on the top of the mountain.

Lots out on the mountain today, there was a huge race, dodged most of the runners as they was using the pyg track on the decent.
