Bangor Worldwide Missionary Convention

Bangor Worldwide Missionary Convention ‘Unique’ is probably the best word to describe the Bangor Worldwide Missionary Convention. National representatives are included as often as possible.

As far as is known, there is no other Convention quite like it in the United Kingdom. Speakers from across the world who reflect the broad spectrum of world mission are invited to take part. Mornings are given over to a world prayer focus followed by Bible Reading sessions on a missions related theme, led by keynote speakers. Local mission representatives also take part in the evening meetings alo

ng with young people who have been involved on short–term overseas assignments. A highly informative mission resources exhibition runs alongside the Convention meetings each year, organised by the Northern Ireland Missionary Secretaries Fellowship. At the exhibition, local mission representatives provide updates on the work of their mission, as well as offering advice on how you can personally become involved. Financial support for mission is a vital element of the convention. We thank God that since 1937 millions of pounds have been donated through the Convention for missionary work.

Known for his profound insight and decades of pastoral experience, Conrad will join us to discuss the joys and challenges of modern ministry. This is a unique opportunity to glean wisdom from a seasoned "African Spurgeon" and connect with fellow laborers in the gospel.

(Awards are subject to meeting our criteria.)

The Ladies' Event at Bangor Worldwide is a cherished tradition—a time to gather with friends in the beautiful surroundings of Bangor Parish Church to witness how God is moving across the globe.
We'll begin with tea and coffee at 2:30pm, followed by an afternoon of powerful storytelling from our guest speakers. They will share firsthand accounts of life on the mission field, the unique challenges they face, and practical ways we can uphold them through prayer and support.

The Worldwide committee was delighted to welcome Jerry and Vasanthakumari Rajanesan to Hamilton Road Presbyterian Church recently as part of their 3-week UK tour!

Jerry is the International CEO of the Dohnavur Fellowship in South India—an incredible ministry founded 125 years ago by local Irish missionary legend, Amy Carmichael.

During their visit, Jerry and his wife explored Amy’s roots in North Down, including a stop at the beautiful Ross Wilson sculpture in the church grounds. Born in Millisle, Amy’s legacy of tireless obedience and devotion still inspires generations today.

Chairman Tom Clarke shared: "It was great to get an update on their current projects from Jerry and to be able to pray for the challenges they face."
