📣Follow-Up Notice: Strict No Dogs Policy – King’s Sutton Playing Fields!

We would like to reiterate and make absolutely clear that the King’s Sutton playing fields are private property.

Under no circumstances are dogs permitted anywhere on the grounds at any time (Unless assistance dogs used by disabled people).

It has come to our attention that there is still some confusion among a small number of villagers regarding this rule.

To avoid any further misunderstanding:
🚫 No dogs are allowed on site — without exception (Unless assistance dogs used by disabled people).

This policy applies to everyone, including members of our clubs.
Anyone found ignoring these rules will face immediate and permanent exclusion from the site. Continued trespass will result in further action being taken.

These rules are in place to protect the grounds, facilities, and all users. We ask for your full cooperation and respect.

Thank you.

King’s Sutton Playing Fields Association.

📢Important Notice – New KSPFA Grounds Policy!

King’s Sutton Playing Fields are now introducing a complete ban on dogs across all of their grounds.

This decision has been made to protect the clubs, members, and visitors, and to maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming environment, particularly for younger users.
As a community facility used by local sports clubs and families, the PFA feel it is essential that they provide the highest possible standards of safety and hygiene.

We kindly ask everyone to respect and support this new policy by ensuring that dogs are not brought onto the playing fields or surrounding grounds at any time.

KSPFA appreciate the continued support of our community and thank you for helping to maintain and improve the facilities for everyone to enjoy.

📢Cemetery Companions Needed: Join Us in Caring for King’s Sutton Cemetery!

Volunteering Opportunity!

We are seeking enthusiastic volunteers to join our new initiative Cemetery Companions, dedicated to maintaining and enhancing our cemetery on Mill Lane. With spring around the corner, this is a wonderful opportunity for residents to lend a hand assisting our Cemetery Warden, enjoy the outdoors, and contribute positively to our village community.

Being a Cemetery Companion not only makes a tangible difference to our village but also provides a chance to spend time outside which can boost mental health and well-being. There is something deeply satisfying about working together and giving back to the community, especially in such a peaceful and beautiful setting.

Tasks include general tidying of fallen leaves and twigs, maintaining benches, planting bulbs, pruning roses, light weeding, and removing flowers and wreaths that are past their best. All help is greatly appreciated, whether you can spare a few hours or help us more regularly.

If you are interested in becoming a Cemetery Companion, please contact the Parish Clerk: [email protected]

Together, we can ensure King’s Sutton Cemetery remains a place of beauty and reflection for all.

Storm Goretti: Significantly reduced Chiltern Railways service on Friday 09 January

Filling message from Harry Burr Chiltern Railways:

Those travelling with us are advised that due to Storm Goretti, a significantly reduced service (50 per cent of normal timetable) will be in place on Friday 09 January 2026.

In addition, customers should check before they travel today (Thursday 08 January) as services may be subject to disruption due to the weather warnings from 5pm this evening. Late night services may be amended at short notice.

On Friday 09 January, one Chiltern Railways service per hour will operate in each direction between:

Birmingham Moor Street and London Marylebone
London Marylebone and Oxford
London Marylebone and High Wycombe
London Marylebone and Aylesbury via Amersham
Aylesbury and Princes Risborough

There will be no Chiltern Railways service north of Birmingham Moor Street or on the line to Stratford-upon-Avon. Hatton, Lapworth, Kings Sutton, Sudbury Hill Harrow, Sudbury & Harrow Road and South Ruislip will also not be served on Friday. Rail replacement buses will not be in operation.
Chiltern customers with tickets on Thursday evening or Friday can use their tickets earlier on Thursday or on Saturday 10 January instead.

Where customers no longer wish to travel, a refund can be requested from the original point of purchase.

Journey planners will be updated overnight to show the amended timetable. If you have any questions or concerns about our amended services, please do not hesitate to reach out.

After the huge success of the 2 wildflower beds on the edge of the rec and the fantastic feedback received, the beds have been enlarged to roughly double the size. A whole range of wildflower seeds have been sown again so we look forward to them sprouting in the spring for another beautiful wild flower display. The amount of insects spotted this year on the flowers was incredible so the council is looking to really maximise the number of pollinating insects visiting these beds next year!

📢 UPDATE! King’s Sutton Community Orchard!

The parish council is delighted to confirm that we have seven trees waiting to be planted this weekend on Windsor Close. We have one Cox apple, two different pears, a Victoria plum, damson, cherry and a peach.
We have a couple of volunteers planting them at 10am on Sunday if anyone else is available to help that would be fantastic and much appreciated.
