**New 55p per mile reimbursement rate**
Volunteer Driver Service needs more volunteer drivers. We are having to cancel journeys as we have the clients, but not enough volunteer drivers to transport them. If you have a car, some spare time, and would like to make a difference in your local community, we'd love to hear from you.

**Volunteer Connect Update**
Volunteer Connect (VC) no longer has funding. Rather than close VC down completely, Volunteer Driver Service CIC (VDS CIC) will continue to operate it as a paid-for offer. VDS CIC has around 200 volunteers, and the same VDS CIC staff who always ran VC. We know there is a strong demand for volunteers from opportunity providers, and we believe many organisations want professional support with their volunteer recruitment.

Volunteer Connect charges £150 per recruitment advert, on a no-applicants, fee‑refunded basis.

Volunteer Connect would normally expect to see volunteers apply for your role within 10 days of posting your recruitment advert.

🌿 Volunteer Needed – Can You Help? 🌿

Our outdoor space is looking a little… sad after the winter, and with our Spring Fest next week, we’d love to get it looking its best!

We’re on the lookout for a volunteer or a local company who might be willing to donate their time this week and come along with a mower and help cut the grass for us. 🙏

In return? Endless gratitude, community spirit, and unlimited tea/coffee 😉

**Volunteer Telephone Journey Broker**
One of our Volunteer Telephone Journey Brokers wanted to join VDS in order to gain experience towards a paid position. VDS were asked for a reference by a company a few short weeks later and now they've gone off to a full-time paid role. Superb for them, back to the drawing board for VDS. Truly we are thrilled for them though, thoroughly deserved, they were brilliant :0)

That means VDS need another Volunteer Telephone Journey Broker. If you are looking to gain a bit of experience and enhance your CV. Please consider volunteering for VDS.

Volunteer Driver Service (VDS), Community Interest Company, has seen unprecedented growth since our restart in June 2025. We are looking for volunteer telephone journey brokers to help organise our volunteer car service. VDS provides transport to essential appointments when there is no reasonable alternative transport available. Telephone journey brokering is the very last chance to match clients to our wonderful volunteer drivers. Telephone Journey Brokers are an absolutely integral role towards to the continued success of VDS. Telephone Journey Brokers volunteer from the comfort of their home, and we envisage a couple of hours on days to suit you. Full training will be given.

**Do something amazing and help save lives**
Volunteer Drivers needed for electric blanket testing. Do you live in Henley-on-Thames or nearby. Are you looking to help your community by potentially saving someone's life. Do you have a car. Are you free for a couple of hours 23rd September 2025. Can you pick up and take electric blankets for testing, wait a few mins whilst they are tested and return them. Mileage will be reimbursed at a 45p/mile rate.
