1460 (Banbury) Squadron Air Cadets We are 1460 (Banbury) Squadron. We are for young people from the age of 12 to 20. https://tinyurl.com/RAFAC1460

We are always looking for new cadets, volunteer adult staff and members for our committee. The squadron provides its cadets with opportunities to fly in both powered aircraft and gliders. We also provide an exciting program of adventure training and field craft including full participation in the Duke of Edinburgh Award program. In addition cadets and adult staff can earn vocational qualifications

and important transferable skills and experience. Banbury squadron also has an excellent marching band.

Calling all girls aged 13 to 18 who are curious about what a future in aerospace and defence could look like!!

We’re excited to invite you to a Girls in Aviation Day at the AirTanker Hub, RAF Brize Norton on Saturday 19 September and applications are now open!

On the day, you will:
✈️ Step inside a real aviation environment at the AirTanker Hub
✈️ Take part in hands-on activities and team challenges
✈️ Get closer to aircraft and explore how they work
✈️ Experience how flight planning and operations come together
✈️ See how different skills and interests link to real careers

Too many young people rule out careers before they have had the chance to see what they involve. Giving girls access to real environments and experiences helps change that.

D-Day 6th June 1944
Today we remember those involved, especially the bravery of those who made the perilous journey across the channel by landing craft to storm the beaches and by glider to take the bridges, thus starting the process of restoring freedom to the peoples of mainland Europe.
The sacrifice of those who did not see the end of the day should never be forgotten...
