💙 Larkrise Celebrates Carers Week 💙

To mark Carers Week, earlier this month, we were delighted to celebrate and say a heartfelt thank you to our amazing team here at Larkrise.

We were kindly gifted a voucher by the Cooke family, in appreciation of the wonderful care provided to their mum. We chose to use this generous gift to host a buffet so that all the team could enjoy some yummy food together as a small token of our gratitude.

Our residents also got involved by creating beautiful handmade keyrings for the team to keep as a special memento.

It was a lovely occasion filled with appreciation, kindness, and togetherness — a true reflection of the spirit here at Larkrise.

Thank you to our wonderful team for the compassion, dedication, and warmth you show every single day. 💐

🌟 Employee of the Month – Emma Smith 🌟

We are delighted to announce that Emma Smith, our dedicated Housekeeper, has been voted Larkrise Care Centre Employee of the Month by our Home Manager, Catherine.

Emma has demonstrated outstanding hard work, reliability, and a consistent commitment to maintaining the highest standards throughout our home. Her attention to detail and pride in her work ensure that Larkrise remains clean, welcoming, and comfortable for everyone.

She is always willing to go the extra mile and provides invaluable support to both residents and colleagues. Emma’s positive attitude and strong work ethic make a real difference day in, day out, and her efforts are truly appreciated by us all.

🎲☕ Dementia Friendly Games Club at Larkrise ☕🎲

Join us for this month's Dementia Friendly Games Club, a relaxed and welcoming afternoon for people living with dementia, along with their families, friends and carers.

Enjoy a selection of classic games in a friendly and supportive environment, with tea, coffee and great company. It's a wonderful opportunity to spend time together, meet others in the community and have some fun.

💛 Celebrating Volunteers’ Week 💛

During Volunteers’ Week, we want to take a moment to say a huge thank you to our amazing volunteers for everything you do.

Volunteers are so important and help us so much with our residents. We’ve shared a small token of appreciation with thank you cards and a bunch of flowers for each of you.

Your support makes such a difference—from one-to-one time and group activities, to Janet’s wonderful organisation of our monthly church services.

A special thank you to our volunteers: Janet, Linda, Gail, and Lydia. We truly appreciate the time, care, and commitment you give.

🐾💙 Supporting the Blue Cross 💙🐾

Last week, the team at Larkrise Care Centre were delighted to deliver a big box of donations, collected by our staff, to the Blue Cross rehoming centre in Burford.

The donations were gathered to help support the wonderful work the Blue Cross team do in caring for dogs and cats while they wait to find their forever homes.

During our visit, we were also lucky enough to meet some of the beautiful puppies currently being looked after by the centre – a real highlight of the day! 🐶

A huge thank you to everyone at Blue Cross Burford for the warm welcome and for the incredible care and dedication you show to the animals in your care. We are proud to support such a fantastic charity and the important work they do within our community.

🌸🌿 Getting Ready for Trust in Bloom! 🌿🌸

Residents and team members rolled up their sleeves and got started on preparations for this year's Trust in Bloom competition 🌼

The first job on the list was creating our hanging baskets and hanging pots, bringing plenty of colour, creativity, and teamwork to the day. Residents enjoyed choosing plants, arranging displays, and helping to get our garden spaces ready for the months ahead.

Trust in Bloom is always a highlight of the year, and we're looking forward to seeing our gardens flourish as we continue working together to create beautiful outdoor spaces for everyone to enjoy.

💙 Celebrating 50 Years of Sobell House Hospice 💙

As part of Sobell House Hospice's inspiring 50 for 50 fundraising campaign, the team at Larkrise Care Centre were delighted to deliver 50 homemade biscuits, each topped with a special Sobell House design kindly created by Banbury Toppers 🍪✨

It was a wonderful way to support and celebrate 50 years of the amazing and vital care that Sobell House Hospice has provided to individuals and families across our community.

We are proud to have played a small part in this special milestone and to support such an incredible organisation whose compassion, care, and dedication make such a difference to so many lives.

A big thank you to Banbury Toppers for helping us create such a lovely contribution to the celebrations.

💙 Little Sparrows Visit to Larkrise 💙

This month we were delighted to welcome Little Sparrows Childcare back to Larkrise Care Centre for another lovely intergenerational visit 😊

During the session, residents and children worked together to create pictures of faces showing different emotions, linked to the children’s topic this week around mental health and feelings 🎨😊😢😄

Together, everyone spent time thinking about how they or others may be feeling and used different facial expressions and colours to help represent those emotions through their artwork.

It was a wonderful activity that encouraged conversation, creativity, understanding, and connection between generations, with plenty of smiles shared throughout the afternoon 💙

We always love welcoming Little Sparrows into the home and look forward to seeing them again soon ✨

✨ Larkrise May Day Street Party ✨

Residents, families, and team members at Larkrise Care Centre came together earlier this month for a fantastic May Day Street Party celebration 🎉

The day was filled with wonderful entertainment from Sparky and Sprite, who had everyone singing along and enjoying the fantastic atmosphere 🎶💃

Residents also enjoyed a delicious buffet lunch followed by a lovely afternoon tea with plenty of sweet treats and refreshments shared together ☕🍰

It was a brilliant afternoon full of music, laughter, friendship, and community spirit — creating more special memories together here at Larkrise 💙

🌸 Flower Arranging at Larkrise 🌸

Earlier this month ahead of our May Day Street Party celebrations, residents at Larkrise Care Centre enjoyed a wonderful afternoon of flower arranging with Hello Sweetpea 💐

Together, residents created beautiful floral table centrepieces ready for the big celebration, with plenty of creativity, conversation, and smiles shared throughout the afternoon.

Activities like these are such a lovely way to encourage creativity, social connection, and meaningful moments together — and the finished arrangements looked absolutely fantastic 🌼✨
