Banbury Lions Club were recently approached by Louise, from the Children’s Ward at the Horton Hospital, as they were setting up a new bookcase. The League of Friends had very kindly donated a new wooden bookcase, which could be wheeled around the ward, offering children an opportunity to read.
Banbury Lions Club were delighted to present, a donation of books to the Children’s Ward on Friday 14th August. Lion President Helen and Rita (pictured) from Banbury Lions Club, handed over the books to Louise and her colleague from the Children’s Ward.
Helen said, “Apart from the obvious learning aspects of reading, we also hope these books will bring enjoyment, comfort and a welcome distraction for the children, during their time on the ward, especially while they are coping with illness or treatment.”
