Presented in collaboration with the Soldiers of Oxfordshire museum in Woodstock, this new promenade performance commemorates the liberation of Bergen-Belsen concentration camp in April 1945 and celebrates the encounter between survivor Naomi Kaplan and Oxfordshire Yeomanry soldier Arthur Tyler, whose lives became intertwined through an act of kindness.

Blending history with contemporary voices, the performance transforms letters and memories into a shared act of remembrance, positive thinking and freedom.

Formed in 2017 with support from Arts Council England, our resident company for the over 50s - Remarkable Dance Company have had the unique experience of working with professional choreographers and dance companies including Uchenna Dance, Yorke Dance Project and Chhaya Collective: Pro Dance Training to develop their practice and create one-off curtain-raiser performances ✨

In 2023, professional choreographer Luca Braccia joined the company as their Artistic Director – not only to hone their skills, but to work towards the creation of a full-scale dance piece, Let’s Play Forever, which was performed on The Mill Stage in 2023. More recently, they have performed The Remarkable Dance Company Showcase in March 2025 and were part of 201 Dance Company's Workshop & Sharing Event in May 2025.

The Remarkables recently took a trip to Dance West Fest and will next be performing on the Global Dance Stage as part of the Dancin' Oxford Summer Festival on the 29th June 💃🕺

Join us to experience four original works by artistic director and choreographer Luca Braccia and company members Patrissa Cuberos, Paula Bailey and Denise J Clough at The Remarkable Company Showcase in March 💃 🕺

This will be avibrant live performance and film night touching upon themes of climate change, gender and loss. Followed by a Q&A with the artists, this show will include classical music, metal, and more….

Remarkable Dance Company is our dance company for over-50s from Banbury and the surrounding area. Formed in 2017 with support from Arts Council England (ACE), we have been able to give the company the unique experience of working with professional choreographers and dance companies including Uchenna Dance, Yorke Dance and Chhaya Collective to develop their practice and create one-off curtain-raiser performances ✨
