🐾 Ann and Audrey Anderson, “The Guthrie Girls”, are taking on the Aberdeen Kiltwalk on 7 June in support of Dogs for Good! 🐾

The sisters are walking in memory of their late mum, raising funds for a cause that means so much to them.

Ann first became involved with Dogs for Good through the Dementia Dog Project in Scotland, where she boarded Lenny during his training. Lenny later became an assistance dog for Jon, and today works as an activity dog with Jeanette, bringing comfort and connection to people in the community.

Ann says the dogs she helped socialise made a real difference during her mum’s later years, and Dogs for Good has held a special place in her heart ever since.

Sasha's loves a 'paw push' 🐾💚

She works alongside our Family Dog Service Instructor Cari, and loves showing off her favourite skill in class.

The paw push might sound simple, but in the right hands (and paws) it can do some pretty wonderful things.
💚 For autistic children, it can be a brilliant way to encourage speech and language, or be turned into games that can then be played with friends and family.
💚 For people with a physical disability, it could be used for something as practical as pushing wheelchair footplates down.

It's exactly this kind of connection between people and dogs that sits at the heart of our Family Dog programme.

And due to popular demand, we're running new summer workshops, all online, to help even more families discover what their dog is truly capable of.

We're very excited about the Bakeathon at the Old Bakery in Brackley! It started today at 5pm with bakers going in to support Danny through the night! Please come and see us tomorrow and buy a cake or two! All cakes are £2 with £1 going to Dogs for Good.

🍰🍫🍪 24-Hour BAKE-A-THON! 🧑‍🍳

Tomorrow, Danny will be taking on the challenge of baking non-stop for 24 hours to raise money for the wonderful charity Dogs for Good 💚🐾

⭐ Starting: 5pm Wednesday
⭐ Finishing: 5pm Thursday

On Thursday, all bakes will be available for just £1 — including at our sister shop !!!

Thank you to the Banbury Rotary Club who presented us with a huge cheque for £10,000 at our open morning in Banbury this morning. The money was bequeathed to them by Helen Morris, a member of the club who passed away recently, following a dementia diagnosis. Helen loved dogs, and was a big supporter of the work we do so they felt it was entirely appropriate for them to gift the money to us.

Later this year, depending which genders our next litters are, a puppy will be named either Helen or Morris in memory of Helen.

Following the cheque presentation, the morning was a celebration of all the work we do to make lives possible through the connection between people and dogs.

It's not every day an F1 team takes a pit stop here 🏎️🐾

But on Friday we welcomed members of the TGR Haas F1 Team for a very special puppy pit stop! 💚

It was great to learn about what the team at Haas do and to share more about our work and the life-changing impact of the human-dog bond. Haas sponsor one of our dogs, Parker, so they have a real interest in the work that we do. Huge thanks to the team for visiting and joining us for lunch — we loved having you here!

Two of our dog mums, have recently welcomed new puppies 🐶💚

Tenessi (who's part of the EBC, a Europe-wide collaboration between assistance dog organisations) and Nelly have welcomed eight beautiful new puppies between them.

And right now, we're looking for puppy socialisers for our recent litters to help them take their very first steps.

As a Puppy Socialiser, you'll welcome a puppy into your home from around eight weeks old, helping them discover the sights, sounds and routines of everyday life.
