We are incredibly moved by these beautiful words written about the Breadline Project Pantry. This poem perfectly captures the heart of what we try to do every single day right here in Banbury.
For so many in our community, the pantry is more than just a place to pick up groceries. It’s a space built on dignity, warmth, and connection.

❌ No upfront membership fees
Just open doors, a warm cup of tea, a friendly chat, and neighbors helping neighbors. Because we truly believe that food is a basic human right beneath the Banbury sky. 🥪✨

The Breadline Project is calling on all of Banbury to stand side-by-side! We are launching our latest food drive, and we need your help to ensure no neighbour is left at a loss. 💛
From Tesco Lockheed Close Dropbox right to the pantry at Cherry Road, let’s come together to lighten our community's load. We are collecting essential pantry staples to bring food and comfort to those who need it most. 🥫✨
🛒 Items we urgently need:
• Chopped tomatoes & baked beans
• Sweetcorn & garden peas
• Tinned mushrooms & sliced carrots
• Tinned new potatoes
• Soups & tinned hotdogs
🤝 How you can get involved:
1. Drop off a crate: Bring your tinned donations down to the pantry today.
2. Give us your time: We are always looking for welcoming faces to volunteer and help make the pantry shine!
3. Support online: Scan our QR codes at the hub or look us up online to see how you can contribute digitally.

Banbury is incredibly proud of our phenomenal local athletes! 📣
Not only are these dedicated young girls training relentlessly to represent Banbury on the world stage in Florida, but they are also putting their hearts into serving our community this winter. By volunteering with The Breadline Project, they are helping at the pantry, share essentials, and bring warmth and dignity to our neighbours when it is needed most.

While the politicians spin grand plans for a decade away and tell us to download apps to track cheap fuel, real families are sitting in freezing homes choosing between putting the heating on or feeding their kids. The system is fundamentally broken when you’re charged just for having a meter before you’ve even turned on a kettle, and when corporate mega-profits soar while local estates go hungry.
We don't need gimmicks, minor tax tweaks, or empty promises about the future. We need immediate, structural change. We need an economy built from the ground up that guarantees a survival baseline for everyone, scraps unfair standing fees, freezes soaring rents, and forces the wealthiest corporations to pay their fair share.
It's time for the government to stop managing decline, look out the window, and deliver emergency funding for the working class before winter bites.

When someone hits the canvas, they don’t need twenty forms—they need real help, right there and then.
This October, we are cutting out the nonsense. Three of Banbury’s frontline forces are stepping into the same corner to launch Collaborative Days 🤝
If you step through our doors this month, you get the full team backing you. No gatekeepers, no bureaucratic excuses, and no passing the buck.
We are bringing mind, body, and basic survival support together:
🥊 Dave Earle MBE at Spit ’n’ Sawdust – Building pride, strength, and fighting spirit in the vulnerable.
🍞 Banbury Breadline Project – Putting proper food on the table. No questions, no hoops.
💚 Banbury Samaritans – That crucial voice on the other end of the line when life gets dark.
Just people helping people. Simple as that.

Every single day, millions of tons of perfect, fresh food are thrown away while families right here in our community struggle to put meals on the table. The current system is broken, prioritising red tape, corporate gatekeepers, and political boxes over actual human impact.
We are tired of seeing local funding go to distant, bureaucratic projects while independent, frontline initiatives are left to do the heavy lifting completely unfunded.
Real change doesn't start in a corporate boardroom—it happens on the ground, in our neighborhoods, through people who actually care. It is time to cut the institutional greed, bypass the gatekeepers, and support the grassroots teams who are actually doing the work.
Let's fix the supply chain, support the true frontline heroes, and make sure no one goes hungry.

To everyone struggling on the breadline, facing the freeze, or trying to stretch every penny to survive the winter shadows: you are not alone, and your struggle matters.
If you or someone you know needs a warm space, a hot drink, or extra support, local project pantries and volunteers are stepping up to help. Let's look out for one another, check on our neighbours, and support the local shelters and pantries doing vital work on the frontline this winter.

🍂 HELP CAN’T WAIT TEN YEARS: DEMAND ACTION NOW! 🍂
The winter freeze is closing in on our community, but families on our streets are facing a harsh reality today while the government debates a "ten-year plan."
Supermarket prices are soaring, gas meters are clicking faster, and bills are spiking. Local households are struggling to put food on the table, and families cannot survive on long-term promises.
Right now, the queues at the Breadline Project are stretching right out the gate. Hardworking people and volunteers are running ragged just to keep the lights on and serve the community, carrying the heavy weight of a broken social safety net.
We need answers on the table immediately. Charities are demanding an Essentials Guarantee to tie support directly to the actual cost of living, alongside expanded school meals so no child goes hungry. A ten-year wait for change means a whole childhood passes away in hardship.
Let’s make sure the voices of our community are finally heard. We don’t need a decade-long promise—we need help right now.
