Looking for a bit of good company and a change of scenery?
Last week, a few of us from South Ribble Men’s Shed hopped on the train from Bamber Bridge for a day out in historic Lancaster.

It wasn't a bad run of it:
• Lancaster Castle: Took a tour around the courtrooms, and a few of us even got locked in a cell (not for the first time for one or two of the lads...).
• Coffee & A Stroll: Sat in the sun for a proper coffee, followed by a wander down to the Maritime Museum.
• Unwinding: Finished up with some dinner, a few frames of pool, and watching the England game in the pub before heading back home to the Brig.

The Shed isn't just about tinkering with tools or fixing things; it’s about getting out, having a laugh, and making proper mates.

The South Ribble Men’s Shed is open tonight, and if you’ve never been before, tonight is the perfect night to drop in.

Here’s what you need to know:

No Pressure: You won't be put on the spot, asked to give a speech, or forced to join in. You can just sit and listen if you prefer.

No Skills Needed: You don't need to be handy or good at games.

What’s On Tonight: We’ve got a Race Night running for a bit of fun, plus a relaxed table just for drinking tea and having a proper chat.

Choose whichever suits your mood.

Walking through the door the first time is the hardest part, but we promise a warm welcome. Pull up a chair—the first brew is on us!

Where: Carr Street Community Centre, Bamber Bridge
When: Tonight (Tuesday 6th Oct) at 19:00

Note: we open from 18:30 for time for people to have a quiet chat before the event for the evening starts

We had a great evening at South Ribble Men’s Shed last night!

Some of the lads got stuck into a variety of games—and, unfortunately for the rest of us, Chairman Ron won them all! We’re sure we won’t hear the last of that for a while… 😄

Those who weren’t into the games enjoyed plenty of banter and made a good dent in the apple crumble Chris had made.

We also finalised the details for our Shed day out in Lancaster this coming Saturday.

A big thank you to everyone who came along, especially our regulars who help keep the atmosphere so welcoming. We’ll be doing it all again next Tuesday!

There is no pressure to join in with an activity, no formal agenda, and absolutely no skills required.

Just a welcoming space for local men to have a brew, chat about everything and nothing, and tonight if you want to join in a board game.

...Games Night at the shed...

Looking for something to do this Tuesday night, games night at the South Ribble Men’s Shed is back this Tuesday at 7pm and the kettle is already waiting.

Last week was a great night with one of Chris’s mind-bending quizzes setting everyone’s brain on fire. This week its games night with Colin’s Table tennis centre stage.

● Where: Carr Street Community Centre, Bamber Bridge
● When: Every Tuesday night, open at 6:30pm for a quiet chat, 7pm start time
● Cost: First couple of weeks free, then £3 to cover biscuits, tea and room hire

If you are recently retired, new to the area, or just fancy getting out of the house for a couple of hours to meet a great group of local lads, come on down.

You don't need to be a master craftsman to join us. Because of our venue, we don't use power tools inside—we focus on tabletop hobbies, social nights, fixing up small gadgets, and having a proper laugh over a cup of tea.

Last week we played ‘Dog Bingo’ at South Ribble Men’s Shed, something quite different for us, and I am guessing most people, loads of dog breads never heard of before.

Loads of laughter and a winner who won nothing but ‘praise’ from the rest of the lads.

This week Tuesday 22nd September, it will be something different, and as always, a relaxed chatty table if you feel a bit alone as the nights draw in and want some company.
