South Ribble Men's Shed

South Ribble Men's Shed Men's Shed in South Ribble currently meets on Tuesdays for a talking tables style session.

There are extra external community projects for members who want to participate, but there is no expectation and the Tuesdays meetings are the heart of the shed.

An enjoyable evening at the South Ribble Men’s Shed last night.
Great to see everyone who dropped in, we enjoyed cups of tea and coffee and Chris’s amazing vegetarian curried dish.

We do it all over again next Tuesday, with nothing specific planned yet apart from a safe place to come and have a brew, enjoy some banter and if need be, share any troubles you may have.

If you fancy joining our group of local lads, we always have room for one more. Have a great rest of your week, South Ribble!

Great week at the shed, last week we had the Great Bamber Bridge Mill Mystery, which was an open evening for all to come and share some food, company and have a go at finding out who had ‘stolen’ three dozen prize winning begonias.

We had a good turnout of visitors including people from the litter picking group, Bamber Bridge in Bloom and the Women’s shed. Thanks everyone for coming, hope you all enjoyed the evening, I know the food was appreciated as there was none left after seconds and third were had.

The winning team is pictured below looking very happy with themselves but maybe a bit disappointed with the trophy.

This week we have a social evening, no walking around but cups of tea, banter and maybe a small quiz later on.

Open to all blokes in the South Ribble over the age of 18. Drop in at Carr Street Community Centre in Bamber Bridge from 18:30 tonight.

Don't want to walk in alone? Drop a comment below or send us a private message, and one of our lads will meet you at the door for a brew!

This Tuesday at the Shed, something a bit different, a walking quiz to solve 'the heist of three dozen prize winning begonias and tools' from the Brig in Bloomers....

Drop in, have a go at solving the crime, on a short walk in the Brig with a little bit of Brig history sprinkled in as well.

It is not role play, so no dressing up required, and the clues do not need Times crossword level of knowledge.

As normal, tea and banter is proved free of charge and this week we are open to anyone over 18 in the Brig.

Drop in at Carr Street Community Centre anytime after 18:30 on Tuesday 4th August for a bit of a different evening.

Another good time at the shed last night, with a new face (Chuck) joining in with the games and banter.

We all enjoyed the cups of tea and coffee, baked potatoes and beans (let’s forget about the sausages).

This week a game of chess was enjoyed by a few of the shedders, and table tennis certainty was a challenge, mainly from having to stand up straight after picking up the miss-hit balls.

Table Tennis won by Colin, congrats.

We do it all over again next Tuesday, with an adventure quiz to solve the Big Brig Theft. No role play or dressing up, just a bit of a guided stroll around the Brig solving the clues to catch the thieves.

If you do. Not fancy the quiz but just want a chat, drop in for a brew.

If you fancy joining our group of local lads, we always have room for one more. Have a great rest of your week, South Ribble!

Games week..

This week we are having a games week, with a variety of board and card games on offer.

If you’re recently retired, semi-retired, or just find yourself with a bit of free time on your hands, why not try something new this coming Tuesday evening?

We also have a chatty table for people who do not want to play a game but still want some company.

• When: Tuesday 28th July, open from 18:30 for a quiet chat, 19:00 when the games begins

• Where: Carr Street Community Centre, Bamber Bridge

The South Ribble Men’s Shed is a casual, friendly group of local lads who meet up every week. Because we meet in a local social centre, we don't use heavy machinery or power tools - instead, we focus on great conversation, interesting tabletop hobbies and community projects.

Don't want to walk in alone? Drop a comment below or send us a private message, and one of our lads will meet you at the door for a brew!

Have a great weekend, and we hope to pull up a chair for you next Tuesday!

Had a great quiz at South Ribble Men's Shed last night, with visitors from various local volunteer groups such as Bamber Bridge in Bloom, and the Wombling litter pickers joining in.

Great cakes made by Chris, loads of biscuits and banter between the groups.

Thanks to all the groups of volunteers in the area that do the hard work to make a positive difference to local life..
