Cashel Forest

Cashel Forest Cashel Native Forest is open for walks with stunning views across. Loch Lomond. The visitor centre and toilets are now closed.

A contribution of £3 for parking is appreciated. Cashel Forest was created by the Royal Scottish Forestry Society in 1996 With help from the Millennium Forest for Scotland Trust. Our long-term aim is “to demonstrate the restoration and regeneration of Scotland’s native woods through sound forestry practice, for the benefit of the public.”

Our native broadleaf and conifer woodland has developed

over 25 years, in to a rich patchwork of habitats, including veteran trees, montane scrub, peatland, meadow, babbling burns and peaceful ponds. There are five interlinked, circular walking routes on site, providing myriad walking possibilities. Three of our paths were designed for all abilities, with no rough ground or steps and plenty of places to rest. Climb the hillside for stunning views of Loch Lomond or stay in the shade of the old oak trees and listen to the soothing sounds of Cashel burn. Cashel Forest offers wonderful experiences in nature for all.
