👀 GREAT NEWS! Word has reached Galgorm that Belfast is organising a Tartan Day Dander on Saturday 28th November!

Here in the fictional knitted world of Galgorm, we've been holding our famous Tartan Danders THREE TIMES A WEEK since 1803. That's over 200 years of tartan-based walks! 🚶‍♂️🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

We've even got our own tartan bi-plane, and Hon. Bro. Tibbles, Lodge Cat of LOL 239, has more highland outfits than most cats could dream of. 🐱🎩✈️

So we're absolutely delighted to see Belfast joining in.

And why wait until November? YOU CAN TAKE A TARTAN DANDER TODAY!

🧶 Anything tartan - An old car rug will do nicely.
🚶‍♂️ Head along the River Maine path.
🐾 Dander alone or take your friends.
✈️ Please do not attempt to acquire a bi-plane. We have enough paperwork as it is.

🕊️ The Weary Dove’s Return | C.H. Spurgeon

📖 Preached 20 May 1888 | Genesis 8:9

Life can be a weary journey. The world offers no lasting rest for the soul, and even faithful Christian service can leave us tired and discouraged. In his sermon, The Weary Dove’s Return, C.H. Spurgeon reflects on the dove returning to the ark, where Noah stretched out his hand and drew her safely in.

Spurgeon points us to the grace of God. When we wander, Christ welcomes repentant sinners who return to Him. When we grow weary from life’s burdens or discouraged in our service, we can find our rest in Christ, not in the passing things of this world. Our salvation rests not on our own strength or worthiness, but on the mercy and grace of God.

🙏 Whatever the weary journey brings, return to Christ. He is our refuge, our rest and our hope. Having received His grace, let us also show loving concern for others and point them to the Saviour.

❤️ THE PRODIGAL’S RETURN | C. H. Spurgeon

📖 Sermon No. 176 | 7 February 1858
Luke 15:20

The prodigal returned home burdened by his sin, fearing rejection and knowing he was unworthy of his father’s favour. But his father saw him, had compassion, ran to meet him and embraced him.

✝️ What does this teach us about God’s grace?

🙏 We must recognise our sin and abandon the false hope of saving ourselves through good works or self righteousness.

🕊️ Repentance means turning from sin, but our own efforts cannot save us. We must look to Christ, who died for sinners, and depend upon His saving grace.

❤️ Spurgeon reminds us that God is not reluctant to show mercy to those who come to Him through Christ. No past sin is beyond the reach of His saving grace.

⏳ His final warning is urgent: do not trifle with conviction or presume that you can respond to the gospel another day.

🪶 God’s Care of Elijah - God Will Provide. 📖

In his sermon, God’s Care of Elijah, C.H. Spurgeon drew three lessons from Elijah and the ravens in 1 Kings 17.

🙏 Trust God’s provision. The Lord knows our needs and provides in His wisdom, often day by day and in unexpected ways. Even faithful Christians must endure trials.

🕊️ Submit to God’s will. Creation obeys its Maker, yet sinful humanity rebels against Him and needs repentance and grace.

❤️ Examine your faith. Salvation rests in Christ alone. True faith bears fruit in a changed life and a hatred of sin.

May we trust God’s faithfulness, walk in obedience and rest our hope in Jesus Christ alone.
