🏍️ WELCOME TO COMRADES MCC, BARRY! 🏍️

Today we’re delighted to officially welcome Barry Smith to Comrades MCC.

Barry will already be a familiar face to plenty of us after joining the lads on our recent Scotland trip, so it’s great to now have him officially patched into the club.

Making it that bit more special, Barry was presented with his patch today by his brother-in-law and fellow Comrade, David Cooke.

Welcome to the club, Barry — great to have you with us! 🤝🏍️

🏍️ LET’S DO WHAT BIKERS DO BEST 🏍️

A couple of months ago, we had the privilege of meeting Paula and her six boys, a family who have been through something no family should ever have to face.

They lost their husband and dad, David McBride, far too soon in a road tragedy.

David was a biker, and his love of bikes has definitely lived on through his boys — all six of them are absolutely bike mad! ❤️🏍️

When we visited them, it was brilliant to see the smiles on the boys’ faces around the bikes, and it’s a family that has stuck with us since.

On Sunday 18th October, a Sponsored Family Walk & Fun Day is being held in David’s memory, raising funds for the Irish Road Victims Association and bringing people together to support Paula and the boys.

This is where the biking community can do what it does best.

Turn up. Get behind people. And show a family that they’re not on their own.

We’d love to see as many bikers, clubs, families and members of the wider community as possible getting behind this. You don’t need to know the family — just come along, take part, donate what you can and help make the day something special.

⏰ 2pm
📍 St Francis National School, Blackrock, A91 NH0V

Let’s show Paula and those six young lads just how big the biking family really is. 🏍️💙

Please give this a share and help us get the word out.

Every share, every person who turns up and every donation counts.

What a weekend.

Eight of us set off on Friday morning for three days on the bikes around some of the best roads Scotland has to offer, with Aberfeldy as our base for the weekend.

From the minute we rolled off the ferry, Scotland delivered. Incredible roads, unreal scenery and mile after mile of the kind of riding that reminds you exactly why you own a motorbike in the first place.

Saturday was the big one, taking us through Glenshee and the A93, over the Lecht, through Tomintoul and Aviemore, on to the Commando Memorial and eventually through some absolutely stunning Highland scenery. There were plenty of fuel stops, plenty of laughs and, as you’d expect with this lot, plenty of slagging along the way.

But weekends like this aren’t really about how many miles you cover or how many roads you tick off a list.

They’re about eight mates disappearing for a few days, looking out for each other on the road, talking absolute nonsense when the helmets come off and coming home with stories we’ll probably still be talking about years from now.

Every one of us left Scotland absolutely buzzing — tired, sore and already talking about where we’re going next.

A brilliant weekend with a brilliant bunch of lads and exactly what being part of a motorcycle club should be about.

Good roads. Good mates. Great memories.

A big welcome to the newest member of Comrades MCC, Scott! 🏍️ We had the pleasure of patching Scott into the club tonight and to be fair he’s already felt like part of it for quite some time. He’s been on plenty of journeys with us, shared plenty of miles and plenty of laughs and along the way has become a really good friend. We’re absolutely delighted to make it official tonight and welcome him into Comrades MCC. Welcome to the club brother, here’s to plenty more miles, memories and adventures together 🤝🏍️ Comrades by name, Comrades by nature. 💚💚💚

A huge congratulations to Dead Men’s MCC on organising an outstanding first charity ride today in aid of the Air Ambulance. 👏🏍️

A big thank you also to the County Down Marshals for their professionalism and for helping ensure everything ran safely and smoothly throughout the day.

From everyone at Comrades MCC, we were delighted to be part of such a worthwhile event. We hope today’s ride raises a fantastic amount for such an incredible cause, and we wish Dead Man’s MCC every success with future charity runs. Here’s to many more! 🚁💚
