📣Delivery Partner Applications Are Open!

Have an idea for boosting job creation, skills development or assistance for disadvantaged adults in Ballymena?

Applications for 2027 delivery partner projects are open until the end of July 2026, and we would love to hear from organisations with ideas that could help support the Ballymena area.

To be eligible to apply, you must be a charity, social enterprise, or not-for-profit organisation focused on:

🔵 Job creation
🔵 Skills development
🔵 Assistance for disadvantaged adults

As Declan Lawn, co-writer of BBC drama, Blue Lights said during our recent Ballymena 400: Building on Partnership and Progress event, “collaboration is everything,” and we couldn’t agree more!

This simple statement perfectly encapsulates The Gallaher Trust’s mission of working together to enhance the local area and the lives of the people within it.

If you have an idea, with a clear plan to make a difference for the people and communities in Ballymena, please contact us in the first instance to discuss.

What An Event! 👏

Last week, we welcomed approximately 100 delegates from businesses, charities, social enterprises and local government to the Adair Arms Hotel for our Ballymena 400 – Building on Partnership and Progress event.

There were lots of positive conversations and ideas shared about what more can be done to help boost job creation and skills development in Ballymena, to help secure the town’s future economic development.

We heard from some of those behind the formation of The Northern Ireland Hospitality School, Colin Johnston, CEO of Galgorm Collection, Eddie McKeever, Managing Director of McKeever Group and its Operations Director, Ashley Douglas, who discussed how the School is already delivering a tangible impact and its future plans.

One of the highlights was our fireside chat with Declan Lawn, co-writer of popular BBC drama, Blue Lights, and our MC, Jo Scott. From growing up in Ballymena to achieving international success, Declan’s story was inspiring, thought provoking and exciting, especially when he surprised the audience by sharing his BAFTA award on the day, which was a real treat!

A huge ‘thank you’ to everyone who came along, shared ideas and made the event such a success!

If the event sparked an idea, we’d love to have a chat whilst delivery partner applications are currently open for 2027 projects until the end of July 2026. Please email Greg to discuss or visit the website for more information:

Enhancing Further Education Opportunities 👏

Last year, we announced a further 99K commitment to the Northern Regional College and Supporting Communities Scholarship Schemes, where we’re supporting disadvantaged young adults in the pursuit of business or STEM subjects.

First established in 2022, 23 students have benefitted from the scheme to date with four already graduating and moving into employment.

Check out the graphic below, where Stephanie McKillop from Supporting Communities details the impact our support has had on their students.

We’re delighted to assist the next generation, boosting skills and bolstering our economy.
