Hosted by the ‘Party in the Park Management Committee’ this is one of three annual events hosted locally as part of the PIP calendar. PIP is now in its fourth year, our Party in the Park traditionally now held on the second Saturday of July between 2pm and 8pm at our recreation Ground in Speedwell Lane. The event replicates what was a popular annual summer fete dating back to the early 1950’s, traditionally hosted by local clubs and associations. The event takes place at Speedwell Lane Recreation Ground. Speedwell Lane Recreation Ground is a registered Charity, Baddesley Ensor Parish Council acting as Trustees. The site was registered as a ‘Field in Trust’ ensuring its use for the community in perpetuity in 2012 as part of Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee. The preparation for Party in the Park takes months of hard work and organization. It is thanks to the dedicated efforts of a few individuals on the Committee who give their time freely throughout the year to ensure that it remains a premier community event locally. A community event, we do our utmost to keep our costs as low as possible thus maximizing funds for distribution to local clubs and supporting other local events, i.e. our Scarecrow Festival and Bonfire. Our sponsors help us in a myriad of different ways, and without their generosity the event would most certainly be more costly. Many want no recognition of their efforts but we feel that they need to be recognized for their time and generosity. Our thanks to the whole community for the fantastic support that you give us every year. I would also like to thank all of the committee members and of course the many volunteers who help out as marshalls, organisers of races, Tug O War etc. We really could not do this without you. If anyone else out there would like to help please get in touch.
