Stubbylee Community Greenhouses is an award winning community focused project based between the beautiful parks of Stubbylee and Moorlands in the Rossendale valley . It is a hidden gem with a thriving community who work together as a team to impro

ve the health and well being of people from all walks of life. Our Charity “The Bacup Consortium Trust” was set up in 2005 by a group of local residents who wanted to improve the quality of the local environment and create a community asset within the council’s park facilities. Over time our organisation has grown into a leading Health and Wellbeing hub thanks to the support from major funders : The National Lottery Reaching Communities, The Tudor Trust, The Manchester Dioses Community Fund, Awards For All, Santander Community Fund , D’Oyly Carte Community Fund and Garfield Weston. With the guidence of our trustees and long term partnerships, we have worked hard to create a sustainable economic model which ensures that the vital services and activities we provide are here for the people who need it for the long term. Our mode of work is holistic, encompassing delivery partners from across education, primary and secondary health care, social services, local business and third sector. We really do grow good stories. Our Ethos is : For all participants to help each other to create a calm safe place where we can thrive.

And the meetings were a success! More updates to follow in the very near future!

Today, Lisa will be attending some exciting meetings at Stubbylee Community Greenhouses.
The first is an opportunity to chat about the Dementia Hub and our plans to bring the Beacon Shed to Stubbylee for some of our participants, along with an interview for their website.
The second meeting will focus on plans to deliver a free course for bereaved carers of people living with dementia.
We are delighted that our relationship with Stubbylee Community Greenhouses continues to grow and strengthen. Together, we are creating more opportunities to support people affected by dementia within our community.

On behalf of the Greenland family.

It is with great sadness that we have to inform everyone that David Greenland passed away peacefully in his sleep today.

As some of you might know, Dave had been suffering with his health recently.

This has been a huge shock to the family and Dave's funeral arrangements will be posted on here as soon as we have further details.

R.I.P. Dave
