The Shell Terminal at Bacton plans to carry out controlled venting on Sunday 24th May.

This is an important activity for the maintenance of the plant so that it can continue to operate effectively to safety standards and industry regulations. The venting will last for approximately 60 minutes and the noise maybe audible in the nearby community, however, please be reassured this is a planned and controlled event.

‘After 44 years living in Pilgrims House we have sold our home and holiday cottages to Alice Summers who lives locally with her family and also owns Barns by the Beach. Our three children Marie, Billy and Mikey had a wonderful childhood and made life long friends in Bacton. Thank you to my many good friends for your kindness and care after Vince died. I will still visit so hope to see you in the not too distant future.’

Flagship Homes is inviting people to discover how they could own their own home at the event, from 1pm to 4pm on Wednesday, 21 January at Bacton-on-Sea Village Hall, Coast Road. Visitors will be able to speak to the Flagship Homes team, ask questions about how shared ownership works, and find out what help might be available to them.

The session will give anyone interested in the 19 shared ownership properties at St Andrew's Meadow – being built next to the hall – a chance to learn more about this route onto the housing ladder. The shared ownership home include two two-bedroom bungalows, four two-bedroom houses and 13 three-bedroom houses. The homes feature modern timber frames, air source heat pumps and solar panels to help keep running costs down.

Families can buy part of their home – as little as 10% – and pay rent on the remaining portion. They can then gradually buy more of their home outright, paying rent on whatever's left.

The first properties due for completion by June 2026.

Who can buy a shared ownership home?
Shared ownership could work for you if these three points apply:
• It will be your main home – not a second property or investment
• You've got some money coming in – whether that's savings, equity from another property, or regular earnings – but buying outright on the open market is still out of reach
• Your household income is £80,000 or less per year
Check if you're eligible using the government's online tool: https://www.shared-ownership-scheme.service.gov.uk/check-eligibility-to-buy-a-shared-ownership-home/, or find out more about buying through shared ownership with us: https://flagship-homes.co.uk/buying-with-flagship/shared-ownership/

Shared ownership drop-in session planned for north Norfolk development

Anyone wanting to get onto the property ladder in north Norfolk can find out more at an upcoming drop-in session.
Flagship Homes is inviting people to discover how they could own their own home at the event, from 1pm to 4pm on Wednesday, 21 January at Bacton-on-Sea Village Hall, Coast Road.
The session will give anyone interested in the 19 shared ownership properties at St Andrew's Meadow – being built next to the hall – a chance to learn more about this route onto the housing ladder.

Visitors will be able to speak to the Flagship Homes team, ask questions about how shared ownership works, and find out what help might be available to them.

The homes are part of a larger 47-home development being built by Flagship Homes, part of Bromford Flagship. All properties feature modern timber frames, air source heat pumps and solar panels to help keep running costs down.

Tony Tann, managing director of Flagship Homes, said: "Shared ownership allows people to get their foot on the property ladder without needing a large deposit.
"Families to buy part of their home – as little as 10% – and pay rent on the remaining portion. They can then gradually buy more of their home outright, paying rent on whatever's left.
"It has been an incredibly successful model and we're keen to help people understand how it could work for them."

The St Andrew's Meadow development, which also includes 28 affordable rent homes, has been part-funded by Homes England. Of its shared ownership homes, there are two two-bedroom bungalows, four two-bedroom houses and 13 three-bedroom houses.
Construction is being carried out by Ipswich-based Aspen Build, with the first properties due for completion by June next year.
