Low Green & Ayr Seafront Trust Limited - LAST A non-profit organisation and recognised Scottish Charity which works to preserve the Low Green, Ayr The threat to these open spaces is constant.

LAST is an non-profit organisation and recognised Scottish Charity which works to preserve for the common good the Low Green, Ayr seafront and other open spaces in Ayr and the surrounding area. Ayr is blessed with wonderful open spaces, particularly at the seafront. Since LAST was founded in 2000, we have been watchful for planning applications and for any other threats of development. LAST has then considered whether action or another response was appropriate. That has included lodging objections to planning applications, attending planning meetings and making representations to South Ayrshire Council. We have had many successes, for example LAST was an active objector to the planning application for Phase 2 of the development at Cunning Park, which was refused during 2014. LAST was also instrumental in securing the agreement of South Ayrshire Council to the addition of the Low Green to the Ayr 1 Conservation Area. We need your help! The more members which LAST has, the more effective we can be in achieving our aims. These aims are to the benefit of the people of Ayr and visitors alike. A good example is the Scottish Airshow, which was tremendously successful in both 2014 and 2015. It demonstrated one of the many benefits of having wide open green public spaces in the heart of Ayr. Please consider joining LAST by writing to us at our registered office at 6 Wellington Square, Ayr along with your annual membership fee (£5) and any donation you would like to make. If you are a Taxpayer and wish LAST to obtain Tax Benefit from your donation under the Gift Aid scheme, we can let you have a Gift Aid form to complete. Alternatively, there is an application form and also a Gift Aid form available in the photos section of this page which you can print off. Please also do get in touch by sending us a message through this page! Your membership and support will make a real difference! In the photos section of this page you can also see the plaque at the north end of the Low Green in Pavilion Road which gives some information about the history of the Low Green. It’s almost time for takeoff!! 🛫

The International Ayr Show – Festival of Flight will officially open at 4pm this afternoon at the Low Green in Ayr!

Our Festival Village will be open from 4pm until 9pm with the funfair remaining open until 9.30pm! 🎪🎡

We just visited the Spanish Galleon in Ayr Harbour. It is a beautiful ship. However what suprised us most is that despite living in Ayr for over 20 years we had never walked along the harbour and looked at the view from that point. Gorgeous Ayr!

AYRSHIRE WEATHER FRIDAY.

The cloud was quite stubborn over parts of Ayrshire today but it's finally burning away this evening.

The heat will build further on Friday.

This evening and night, very warm and sunny then clear spells and some mist patches overnight.

A warm night for sleeping.

Hopefully any early cloud will burn away to leave a very warm or hot day with sunny periods.

Patchy high cloud may make the sun hazy at times.

A warm sunny evening will follow.

A wee fly in the ointment on Saturday as a shower or two may develop with less hot but still warm conditions and also sunshine breaking through then it's back to hot and sunny conditions from Sunday lasting into next week.
