Yesterday was a busy day! Before our visit to Hugh (See Previous Post), we took delivery of a Champ from the MoD. This is a different style power craft compared to what we have already, giving us a wider range of training availability for the cadets going forward.

It's quite strange watching a boat of this size "float" through the air, it is shaping up to be a busy summer!

It was our honour and privilege to play a very small part on Hughs special day! BZ Hugh!

Following on from our earlier posts.... if you had minibus in mind you are correct!!!

Here is our new (to us) Citroen Relay 15 seat minibus collected today from near London! Adding another string to our bow, helping us get our cadets to where they need to be!

Thank you to funders who made this possible!

Kells Trust
Trinity House

We will certainly put it to good use!

If Thursday was all about sailing, Saturday was all about powerboating!

We had some cadets today out learning new powerboat handling skills or refreshing from last year!

We couldn't help but take some photos when doing our planing session.

And with that, we are off and running with our 2026 boating season!!!!

Did someone say boating?

Last night saw some of our adults decide to do some impromptu sailing. The main reason was to test unused sailing boats to ensure readiness to take our cadets next time aswell as rebuild some skills.

We are excited to bring sailing back to the unit and into Ayr harbour! Hopefully this capability will continue to grow.

Helps the weather was stunning, just need some more wind next time.

We would like to say a massive thank you to the team from GE Aerospace who came down a few weeks ago to spend their volunteering day with us.

The team was put to work preparing some of our boats for the season ahead aswell as clearing some of the ground around our new boating hub making it safe for the cadets.

This has also allowed our own volunteers to spend time on other tasks due to this work being taken care of.

Thank you again! Its been a huge help.
